Description
Just some of the process to how i worked up Morgoth's character. Going back and forth between the Silmarillion itself and the paper, tib-bits of more statistical sketches like this often pop out. Helps alot for characters i may want to use in multiple future projects as well, of which this design of Morgoth probably will be (Morgoth and Ungoliant? Muahaha). All are profile shots (arms removed) to show height. Most of the 'rock spires' to Morgoth's armour removed as well, and shown in the brown shaded area instead. Individual spire concepts to the right there. To the bottom left are some designs for Grond (Don't ask about the spelling on paper..).
So yeah...my brains' processes. Scary huh?
This was actually cleaned up a bit to the displayed version for a copy i printed out for a friend at work who is working on the Feanor/Morgoth project along with me. His work will be included and shown with some of the next updates.

Very cool! I had to go do some research on the names. I need to get back into tolkien books - It's been forever. I like seeing these sketch stages. It will be really cool to be able to compare these to the final drawings!
