This is beautiful. I think this is the best image of Kuja I've ever seen. The realism is wonderful and I like the fact that it's a monochrome piece. I think colour would ruin an image like this. Wonderful work. I hope to see more.

I can see I have alot of work todo. I love the detail you have added to this piece. Shading, flawless. I just wish i could zoom in more. I want to see the detail up close. Really awesome pic!

Ok, now I want to pick apart how you draw. I want to know your techniques. This is so amazing! Do you draw from life? Do you plan out your drawing beforehand? What made you choose this medium for this work? How did you learn to draw that good?

I draw from life on occasion, mainly for practice on me eyes..though when i sit down to work on a project like this, i tend to have a ton of reference sprawled about me. Yup, i do usually plan out bigger pieces like this before i start into em'. Chose pencil for this because it's where i'm at basically..i didn't want to attempt to create what i had in my mind by using a medium i wasn't too sure about. I'm completely comfortable with my 0.5, so i went at it. Plus, lately i've been progressing on to transferring my pencil artwork into a cg colour format (check out 'Anton the Mack' or 'Ultimecia'), so i get the finished pencil piece, plus a photorealistic(if all goes well *L*), full colour finished product to make prints out of or whatever.
For your last one, i've been drawing since i was just a little tike. I used to watch my older brother draw, and copy off of him. So we both had the talent in there, which i think everyone has at a different level..but then you just blast into it and kick it up levels until your tossing out what you have as an image in your mind onto the paper perfectly. I plan on reaching that point sometime before i die...i hope. hehe

That's in PENCIL!? WOW! That makes it even more impressive. I thought it was something like sanguine conte crayon. Oh, you've been drawing since you were little? I feel better, then. I only started a little over a year ago. :

The art is wonderful. It's something that would go great on a sci-fi book. I like the maroon shading. It gives a nice impression, both emotional and wonder.

nice don, yuo are good to make shadows, and the figur have a sould. you are geting a feeling of his whate he things about you whate you was thinking abaut in the moment you was drawing this picture

This is beautiful! Very nicely done. The only thing I would do differently is to maybe add some indication of wrinkles in the white portion of his sleeves. Absolutely beautiful.
