Quite a bit of progress made with this update. Been working on this during what little spare time I have while going to school.Tones are WAY off, but I'm focused on getting the composition right, as well as the lighting across his armor properly distributed before I begin tonally balancing everything out. Most of the dark outlines will go bye-bye as well.
I'll certainly mention that a shitload of inspiration came from SUPERB depiction of Morgoth right here --> [link]
His choices with lighting and overall atmosphere are very impressive.
Next update on this project should be it's completion. ^_^'

I'm at long last getting back into the swing of my art, so I aim to have Morgoth painted in full soon.

Epic work here! I love the way you inspired his design on Sauron's armor from Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings. It's the closest thing we have to a design for the Dark Lord in Tolkien's work. And since Sauron was a servant of Morgoth his armor would have many influences and facets of his master. It's cool how you infused the enormous crown into a helmet kind of like Saurons. Their armor should look alike! I hope you finish soon!!!

Thanks! I've used quite a bit of reference from the LOTR films. I'm trying to stay in the same vein as Jackson's interpretation of Tolkien's work. If only he would get his hands on the Silmarillion. ^_^
