Description

Sarafina, clutching her granddaughter in her jaws, exited the den that Nala had been sheltering her newborns in. She had to close her eyes for a moment to adjust to the burning sunlight outside. Since the den was away from the other pride members, she was able to easily sneak past everyone with the red cub. It took her ability as a huntress to avoid the King’s loyal subjects from seeing her leaving the Pride Lands with this cub that had the Queen’s eyes.

Sarafina neared the edge of the Pride Lands, and that is where she stopped. She lowered her muzzle down to release the cub. She pulled away for a moment and stared down at the confused infant.

The infant looked up at her grandmother with big baby blue eyes. She remained in the same position she had been set down in. Sarafina leaned down, but she hesitated. She growled to herself, and she did it. A top and bottom fang sank into the cub’s tiny ear. Immediately a cry squelched out of the cub.

She wailed for her mother, and for the pain to stop. The cub’s eyes were tightly closed, but in that time period Sarafina had already began to walk away. She did not look back. The girl was marked to die now, and she should be finished off by starvation or another predator.
