Description
Everytime he sees lots of food infront of him, his jaw drops open, the tongue hangs out and his pupils dilate, resulting in that faceI added a tongue sheath. I did a little research on the anatomy of a snake's mouth, and decided to add that feature because a long thin tongue going all the way into the throat looks a little strange. It also further balances the "snake plane" scale. I did not add a "glottis" however since it looks too strange to be on a plane, even with the tongue sheath

Sebascelisc: it is a big part indeed. Second place is getting enough heat from the sun. In survival situations my engines can warm me up, but this is at the cost of fuel. This is not necessary in Australia where it's always really hot everyday ...if there's no cyclones trying to kill us ...or if it's not flooding. It does actually get too hot over there sometimes

80: I like it in Colorado. It's not humid, there's four distinct seasons, it actually snows, it's sunny 300 days a year, and it's the one place where the weather is as ADD as I am: it will rain in the sunlight, in the mountains precipitation will be isolated literally to sheeting rain in one valley and clear skies in the next, once in a blue moon we'll get what the weather channel calls 'thunder snow' and in the planes your more likely to get snow over spring break than winter break.
On the contrary, we get nasty winds over the planes (hence why the runways at Denver international Airport run in all four directions) that same airport is used as a tornado shelter more often than you'd think, in 2013 pretty much the entire state flooded (it was insane, I don't even understand how it was possible) if you ever visit Gunnison you know what it's like to live in an icebox, anyone living anywhere east of Denver is guaranteed to have their roof destroyed by hail once every decade- at least, and if we get a drought in the winter... The summer lights on fire, literally.

Sebascelisc: we get droughts and bushfires too. Especially in the south and inland parts of the country. Luckily for us, tornados are extremely rare.
(irl my city got one which ripped the roof off a pub on Christmas Day several years ago. The pub and a neighbouring building were the only things damaged. Everything else was untouched. Therefore if a rare tornado does occur here, it only last for a few seconds and is not too severe)

80: Yeah, we get bush fires in other states too, the Texas wild fires put ours to shame (I actually know people who live on PK lake which was burned really bad in the Texas fires a few years ago, and as far as tornadoes, we had one so close to the airport last year that the hail was damaging airplanes)Β

Sebascelisc In reply to eightyjet [2015-01-16 03:56:00 +0000 UTC]
Sebascelisc: The bushfire in Victoria years ago was so bad it was declared a statewide emergency with hundreds of fires across the state simultaneously burning down houses and wiping out entire forests. Firefighters from across the whole country came to assist them. It was raining soot and burnt leaves with the ground black with charcoal and ashes, making people call that day "Black Saturday". Many people were homeless. I reckon that would put your Texas wildfires to shame.

eightyjet In reply to Sebascelisc [2015-01-16 04:04:51 +0000 UTC]
80: Fun fact: The term "Black Saturday" was first used in 1988 to describe the Yellowstone National Park fires
(I don't know much about Australian fires, they could've been worse --I wouldn't know-- but here are some nice maps of Texas at various points of the fire season malialitman.files.wordpress.co⦠en.es-static.us/upl/2011/09/te⦠)
