I kinda figured the WH40K fans prefered realism over the cartoony/manga-ish things I draw, and got quite a few negative feedback about it, so here's a more... fan-friendly approach of the same concept.Beside, it just look better anyway, it's not as half-assed as the other ones.
And yeah that lasgun is tiny, kinda like a las-smg or something.
again, an imperial kroot concept, more of a pirate kroot with human equipement though xD

man! AWESOME! I love Kroot so much i added em to my guard using the merc rules. And heck, theres a heap of lasgun bashin in these comments. One thing people tend to forget is this, Yes, they aint so good compared to a bolter. However, you can only get 20 bolter shots in a unit of space marines. My guard unit of conscripts can get a whopping 60. And thats just the conscripts. then again, i havent read the new rulebook. i have the old one.

Actually, dont Kroot have more of a Under-bit beak? This guy looks like he's got some teeth or something. You should check out some pictures of kroot from the Tau codex to just add a bit more... realism?... to your kroot drawing! Or, I could scan my codex pics for you if you want.
As for the drawing itself, it's very nice. The Las-gun thing doesnt look TOO disproportionate, but I would bet anything on saying that the Kroot Riffle is at least twice as good.
(For those who care, the standard las-gun is 24" Rapid-fire, Str. 3 with no AP value, while the Kroot Rifle is 24" Rapid-fire, Str. 4 with AP 6. Not too much of a differance, but YOU try shooting at something when your guns are nothing more than flashlights!)

The kroot rifle also count as an aditionnal melee weapon. No really the lasgun is the second worst gun ever, the absolute worst is the grot blasta, or like maybe the "lost and the damned" stub pistol.
Also, kroots have a beaky end, but they are very high in Orkish genes, and many kroot artwork represent them with this orkish sort of mouth.

This isn't far from the truth actually, as Kroot are mercenaries the IG employ them fairly often... when the Inquisitors aren't looking.

Heh, well technically it's a the front of a IG helmet with a Tau-styled anteanne, but let's just say it's still a IG antennae xD

Technically it's just shadows, not makeup xD But I went really heavy with the pencil so meh.
