Description
This picture shows the Sony TPS-L2, the first Walkman ever (1979)!I made it for pixelgala.org , but didn't submit it yet because I would like to have some critiques first so that I can change some things before.
Needed time: for 1 1/2 weeks ~ 0-2hours/day
Here you can look at a picture of the original TPS-L2
Please comment on it, so that I can improve and submit it
EDIT
I'm afraid the fullview doesn't work again (grmls...why?), so download it please!

That's brilliant work!
The details are amazing.
One small fault: the reel holes on the cassette are too far apart. Other than that, everything looks really good!

HOW much spare time do you have?!
This looks great, how much work was it?

Wow, it's been a few years since I did this, so I really can't say...
I wrote "Needed time: for 1 1/2 weeks ~ 0-2hours/day" in the description, so I guess something around 12 hours probably.

I full-view this, but I still see the preview image. Perhaps it is a glitch in dA. Maybe re-submitting the file will fix the problem.

strange...this seems to be a glitch of dA indeed.
and you're right - I re-submitted the file and everything is working again

That's great. You can remove the edit now it's working again. Oh, and that link to a real picture of the walkman no longer works. You can use this though: [link]

Perfect. Submit it.
I love the background for some reason, almost more than the actual walkman. Even though the walkman is REALLY good.

It's an excellent rendition. All I would say is that it doesn't look as shiney as the Walkman itself, it doesn't have a metal, reflective feel to it. Nevertheless, good work and good luck..... it's for a competition right?

this is beautifully pixelized. for the first walkman it doesn't look half bad! excellent work, the background fits well too

The bottom of the headband-ish part that holds the actual headphone speaker-thing looks a bit wonky. But the shading on everything else is beautiful. Good show.

It looks fantastic.
But, the angle along the base doesn't appear to match the angle along the upper edge. It may just be an optical illusion but it throws the eye. Anyway, who am I to criticise?
Well done anyway!

I love the text on the walkman. I always find doin text in small pixel scale like that to be the hardest. Even non slanted text! You did a great job on it. the background it freaking awesome. much better then just leaving it blank or clear like most people (and me :L ) . Great work.

Fantastic work, I like the tape just as much as the walkman.
As Dev:halfliquid said that ear-piece seems to be at a bad angle.
The image is perfect none the less.
Great work

This looks quite amazing -- a supurb example of how iso should be done, in my opinion. Definately crispy-clear and the perspective worked with is executed nicely.
(But if I were to point something out to improve upon .. it would be the headphones. Not sure what the problem is exactly, but they seem out of angle near the ear-piece. Probably not your fault though: hard to do regardless.)
And, as much as the walkman itself is tight, I think the background really suits this all well to boot.
This one's a keeper! Nice job!
