Commission for my friend RLTook long enough (6-7 hours) because I rarely do illustration nowadays, but I kinda like the result.
I'm changing job for now, and the payment is on hold. In dire need for money so I open commission

Interesting portrait, maybe the main things that could use some work would be the tree trunk that doesn't look very realistic, and the way the headset sits on the tree roots, i'm not sure they'd really look like that, maybe drawing them just in the grass wouldve been simpler. I'm also not really sure what the "stains" on the tree are, it's a bit confusing to the eye

This is probably the most appropriately titled deviation I've come across so far. This definitely looks like a 'me' moment; a moment where where nothing gets in the way of your 'you' time, not even the Internet, music or that book you've been meaning to read. In the end, when you actually get some time to yourself, you feel more content in just letting go of your surroundings and let your brain rest than actually doing anything.
The color scheme helps defining this moment; it feels warm and inviting, almost like it's a sleepy summer day where the temperature is just right for you to doze off under the cool shade of a tree. The colors go well with the character's clothes as well, which is pretty neat.Β
The lines are really well done, and they look pretty clean. They, along with the shading, makes it look really professional, like it could be found in an official manga or anime. I also really like how the objects have this 3D-feel to them. It makes me wonder if you rendered the objects in a 3D-program and then drew them in Photoshop, or if you drew them from memory. Either way, it's pretty impressive, and shows that you have a lot of talent.Β
If there's on thing that I think looked a bit odd, it would probably be the arms. There's nothing wrong with them per se, but to me they look a tad too short. Either that, or the torso might be a tad too long. I try to imagine what the arms would look like if they just hung down naturally, and to me it looked like if the wrists were above the crotch as opposed to being level with it. Again, that's just how I see it, so I might be wrong.Β
Despite that one detail, I think this is a very well made picture that does exactly what it says. Great job!
