Description
I really thought I would never finish this. The reference picture ( [link] ) is my favourite photo of Norman Reedus (I'm sorry if you're already tired of seeing him in my gallery, I swear I'll draw somebody else next
Blame Tadao Ando for the random concrete wall background.
Tools:
0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 mechanical pencils
Normal B pencil for the background
white pencil and white out for the highlights
tinted paper
40+ hours
Still using random song titles as deviation titles because I can't think of anything better

Thank you so much for your comment! I always try not to 'copy' a picture, but to add a personal touch! (Don't worry, your english is good, and I know exactly what you mean!)

Why did you go with a more grunge look? Just curious. Your drawings are normally more smooth.

Oh, it's great that you noticed! I just thought it would suit him better, this style just seemed to fit the reference picture.

Thanks! This is one of the few drawings I spent more time on the clothes than on the face, normally it's rather the other way round ^^

absolutely brilliant- jacket is a work of art. How do you use white out? How big is this piece?

SecondGoddess In reply to bthslayr [2012-01-11 23:07:46 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! I'm actually very happy with how the jacket turned out.
I use a white-out pen to apply it, then blend it with a white pencil. The drawing is approximately 25x35cm.
