Description Well...bit of a story behind this one. I was playing Resistance 3, and the sky took it upon itself to deposit all its static electricity a short distance from my house, thus causing a not-as-temporary-as-I'd-have-liked power failure. By virtue of the fact that this is a laptop, I was able to do at least something, so I started drawing a mech. I did a fair bit of it, then the power came back on, and I've had to finish the bloody thing because I put too much time into it (I'm that slow). Next time there's a power failure, I'll remember to read a book or something.

I'd have put storm clouds in but I really couldn't be bothered. That's the long and short of it. Enjoy.

P.S. Very, very slightly Tron-inspired. I'd probably have done another Mass Effect comic if I hadn't watched it recently.

Thanks screenscan, although I don't think I'm really capable of doing anything more detailed...yet.

but thats no prob, now, is it?!
dont force yourself to things that will burn you inside out.
im doing this myself sadly (im trying to create good color with shadows and all, and just today i came to the thought, maybe i should start painting in black/white, and the go to 3 colors and so on..)
we ll see .....

just keep it going

your pic looks good!

No problem at all. ^^

The problem is that many of the artists we see here range from practiced to professional, and that's what we compare ourselves to. That said, I can't get complacent, I have to keep at it. It takes me ages to produce anything uploadable, which limits my ability to improve. Recently though, I've really cut back on layer usage, and I think it's helped make my art more fluid. So I say go ahead, experiment with monotones, it might be really good for you. If it isn't, all you'll have lost is time.

Thanks for the encouragement. ^^

(and i know what you are talking about by saying it takes ages to come up with something good and fΓnished )

I'm not sure it's too dark or enough, but it's good drawing

Thanks, I figured too dark was better than too bright for the mood I was going for. ^^

Thank you, much appreciated!

And that is an awesome group, I'd be happy to join, only it says that requests are closed. At any rate, I've favourited a number of deviations from the gallery.

Thanks, I'm glad I was able to avoid a cyan mech.

Funny how some of the best work we do comes to us out of the blue....

True that. And the inverse is also true; when I really try, I just get frustrated and do something else.

Yep. If it turns into a job, you just start to slog through it and its' no fun.
