Yeah... I'm so tired right now, my brain is fried. lol It's like... Homework how do? Cuz idk how to do it anymore! Enjoy this Maddie story everyone! C:
I stood in my room, shocked by what happened and frozen as I heard confused voices yelling throughout the house. It was dark, the middle of the night from what I could tell. I blinked as Lisha, came into my room and her emerald colored eyes widened in horror as she gazed upon me.
“Madison, what happened?!” Lisha asked frantically as she rushed over to look at the wound on my shoulder. I couldn’t make out her words though; everything was going in slow motion at the point as I stared at the red paw prints trailing out the door. I snapped back to reality when Lisha began pawing near my wounds. I flinched and stepped back.
“Stop it Lisha, I’m fine!” I shouted becoming frustrated. Everything good in my life had suddenly fallen apart. Lisha stared at me with worry in her eyes and I felt bad for snapping at her. My glare eased up at her and as I was about to apologize but then noticed many of the Dunkle pack had been awoken by the whole ordeal. Kyoto stood firmly in the doorway with her red eyes gleaming, her lip pealed back in a slight snarl.
“Madison! Did Rex do this to you?” Her voice boomed out. All the dogs behind her looked at each other in confusion.
“Rex is a traitor!” “How could he do such a thing?” “That bastard, we never should have let him into the pack!” I heard all these whisperings going through the pack like a low buzz. I narrowed my eyes and growled.
“Well Madison?” Kyoto persisted.
“Yes, but it was an accident!” I cried out. “It was my fault; I woke him up while he was having a nightmare! We have to go find him!”
Kyoto shook her head. “I will not allow anyone to go into this blizzard. It’s too dangerous. Rex is an adult and you can’t just keep dragging him back here. This is serious, he injured you! Even if it was on accident, he can’t be trusted anymore.”
Kyotos words stung me, they pierced my heart. “B-But!” I fumbled with words. I couldn’t believe that no one was sticking up for Rex, not even our Alpha.
Santiago stepped through door looking at me firmly. “She’s right Maddie, you can’t save him. Some dogs are just too broken to repair, if he ever hurt Jeza or any of my pups, I’d kill him!” He growled.
“He wouldn’t! I mean-” I blurted out as everyone stared and my slashed shoulder. I growled trying to find the words that could change ther’s minds. “If no one goes after him, he will die in this storm! Don’t you all care?!” I said as tears welded in my eyes.
My pack mates all remained quiet including Kyoto.
“Madison… Just let him go. He doesn’t want to be here.” Lisha begged, her eyes pleading with me.
I glared at all the dogs. “I can’t believe; I really can’t.” I said as I shoved my way out my bedroom door. I ran down the stairs and was about to bolt out the door when a loud bark echoed through the house. I stopped in my tracks and looked up to see Kyoto at the top of the stair case.
“Where do you think you are going, Madison?” Kyoto growled out.
“I’m going to find Rex! I don’t care if I have to do it alone either.” I stated coldly.
“I forbid it! No one is leaving here tonight, including you. Rex made his choice!” She growled
I felt eyes on me from every corner of the house, everyone was watching me. The whole house was tense and quiet as they waited for my decision. I started each pack member in the eyes.
“Rex is just as much a pack member as the rest of you! How dare you judge him so superficially! You should be ashamed of yourselves right now! What if it was me in his position? What it were you?! ” I snarled out. “He was so ashamed about what he did, monsters don’t show remorse!”
Kyoto flinched and her glare eased up into surprise. Everyone looked at each with guilt in their faces but still no one wanted to go with me. I didn’t blame them, it sounded a little bit insane.
I shook my head. “I’ll be back.” I said lowly as I ran out the door. No one tried to stop me this time and I was relieved. The winds were blowing crazily in every direction, thrusting thick snowflakes through the air violently in every direction. I had to find Rex, but it really was looking impossible. I closed my eyes tight hoping for a miracle as I bolted through the deep snow towards the city. I figured that since Rex wasn’t very weather adapted, that would be his first choice. He couldn’t be too far ahead of me and when it came to running in the snow, no one can beat a Husky!
I ran as quickly as I could, the snow was not going to stop me even though the wound on my shoulder protested with pain. I grit my fangs and pressed onward, trying to get a rhythm in my steps.
“Madison! Wait up!” I heard a voice cry out behind me.
I turned and was surprised to see that Shikoba was trailing behind me. As she grew near I stared at her suspiciously.
“Don’t you dare try and stop me. “ I growled out.
Shikoba blinked in surprise. “I’m not here to stop you! I’m here to help, you are right you know! Rex deserves to be brought back!” She said bravely, despite the wind blowing her thick fur in every direction.
I sighed as I looked into her eyes. I was thinking about telling her to go back home but I remember the last time I went off on my own… things didn’t work out so well. I was actually happy to have the company.
“Thank you Shikoba” I said smiling gently. “Let’s get going.”
She nodded and followed after me as we rushed to the city. I knew we had to be careful with dog catchers but I knew for a fact they wouldn't be out at night, especially in this weather. I wasn’t finding any tracks and no scent to go by; at this point I was going by pure instinct. Shikoba and I entered the city cautiously as we both sniffed around for a scent… anything that could help us find Rex.
“Find anything?” I asked Shikoba as she was inspecting something in the snow.
She looked up to me. “Are these Rex’s paw prints? She asked curiously. I trotted quickly over and sure enough, it was him. I knew his prints anywhere after the last time I tracked him down. I nodded at Shikoba and we dashed in the direction of the prints. Finally, we came up to an old abandoned building which the prints trailed into. I walked up the stoop and peeked my head carefully in the dark building.
“Rex, I know you’re in here!” I shouted into the emptiness. I heard no reply; instead I heard something jump out a back window.
“Oh no you don’t!” I growled running behind the building with Shikoba trailing close behind me. I was determined not to let him get away this time. As I turned a corner I finally saw him with his back turned. He stood rigidly under a yellow street light as he looked at the brick wall in front of him. There was nowhere left to run.
I stepped up closer and noticed his fur was soaking. I was immediately worried. “Come on Rex, let’s go back. You are going with to stay with us whether you like it or not.” I said matter of factly. Rex growled in response but never turned to face me.
“You promised that you wouldn’t run away anymore… Don’t you want to be in a family…? Don’t you want to be with me?” I asked with tears building in the corners of my eyes. I don’t know why I took his leaving so personal; I don’t know why I cared so much… But I did. I stared at his motionless figure.
“Don’t you care about me, Rex?” I asked looking to the ground wondering if he did.
He was quiet for a moment before he started laughing, his low voice bouncing off the walls. It was almost eerie. Shikoba and I looked at each other in confusion then back to Rex.
I scowled. “What the hell is so funny?” I asked lowly.
His laughter died down as he whipped his head in my direction. His deep golden eyes looked different, so empty and cold compared than what I was used to.
“You just don’t get it, do you?”
I nodded my head. “No I don’t.” I said starting to feel numb. I didn’t understand why Rex was acting so weird.
He laughed again. “I never even liked you or your idiot pack; I just stuck around to see what I could take from you all. But you don’t have anything, your all worthless.”
I glared at him. “You’re lying!” I cried out, the tears running down my face.
“No, I’m not actually… But I guess you can’t get it through your tiny little house pet brain. Only someone as stupid as you could see that I’m not pack material.” Rex replied, grinning darkly.
I gasped out loud and top a step back as if I had been struck across the face. Shikoba glared at Rex and growled.
“That’s enough Rex! Maddie risked losing everything just to come out here to save you! She faced the whole pack and defended you despite what anyone said.” Shiboka shouted. I blinked surprise as she defended me. Rex flinched but looked through narrowed eyes at Shikoba.
“So what? It doesn’t mean anything to me. Now if you ladies don’t mind, I’ll be on my way so quit following me already. It’s annoying and pathetic.” Rex stated, looking a little disgusted.
Tears overflowed from my eyes, I didn’t know what to do. I felt so foolish for putting so much effort and time… and trust into this dog. I thought that he was different from the others and I really felt like Rex was a good guy. Rex trotted past me and Shikoba and didn’t even give us a second glance.
“If that’s how you really feel about me… I’ll leave you alone Rex. I’m sorry that I failed you.” I said as the wound on my shoulder throbbed but the pain in my heart was much worse. Rex froze and looked back at us for a second. He closed his eyes tight and took off running again until we lost sight of him completely in the foggy night. Shikoba looked at me in disbelief. She had her mouth open like she wanted to say something but there was nothing left that we could do, Rex was really gone.
“Madison… I’m so sorry.” Shikoba said shakily.
I looked up at her and threw on a fake smile. “It’s okay… let’s just go back. Maybe the others were right.” I said calmly. But on the inside, I was completely torn up. Shikoba didn’t look like she believed my act so I turned my head and started walking back to the hideout. She followed beside me as tears streamed down my face and regret filled my heart.

Just thought about this! After Rex and Maddie's reunion, when Rex is healing or just comes to, Kyoto could be there, ready to throw him out for what he did to Madison! Just a thought, not how it has to be

lol hi, Striker is currently not accepted into this particular pack yet so you technically cannot respond until you draw up his initiation test. FYI

test, every new member must get their dog to complete a test for the respective pack their joining in order to be considered "accepted". unless you had a talk with the packs alpha already about this
