So! This is how my Invader Zim costume looks at the moment!There is still room for improvement of course
I need something sturdy to hold up the antennas for one, since after a few hours, they started to bend inwards... Oh well!Costume is entirely made by me, gloves, shoes and everything!

I should be able to start making an Invader Zim cosplay soon, hopefully with some additions (attachable/detachable human disguise, split pin to rise the antennas) with a help of a friend.

ComicCon is overrated. DragonCon in at Atlanta is THE BEST con I've ever been to. If you feel like crossing the pond in early September, I cannot recommend it enough.

This is a fantastic costume! I've been commissioned to make GIR for Halloween for DD this year, so looking at your process will help tremendously.

very impressive. the head is AMAZING! i made my son a GIR costume for halloween a few years back. this year his lil sis is going to wear it and he wants to go as ZIM. i made him a costume but now he is mad cuz he wants a full head instead of a hat... looking for inspiration i stumbled upon yours. i would love to pick your brain a bit about structure if you ever have time.

yes your steps are kinda rough. so i was wondering things like how thick is the cardboard and the fabric you used to cover it. what kind of fabric did you use especially in the mouth so you could see still. i could prolly figure this stuff out on my own but i just dont get much time with both my children being autistic. so ANY tips would really be great. he likes to wear his costume while he watches the show. and again thank you in advance.

The cardboard is actually just from those typical cardboard boxes you use to move or store things in!
The green fabric is fleece, the eyes and such is just any fabric I could find in the right magenta colour, in my case it's cotton. Fabric stores do tend to have a nice green one in fleece that works fine. You could probably find good "see through" black fabric at a fabric store as well, just ask the personnel and they'll probably point out a few. There are quite a lot of "see through" fabric types in lots of colours, easy to find actually!
