Yeah sure, every third moc djok makes is a Horned armored demon warrior. But the other two out of three times it's an original character and not just some "d00d". Who cares that he occasionally makes relatively boring humanoids, when he mocs so often that his non-d00d mocs are more frequent than all of YOUR moccing combined?
Give me a break. A year ago you loved djok and praised him for being original. He hasn't changed, your opinion of his character has. Even though djok avoids drama like the plague, now that you've got it in your head that he's aligned against you, you can't separate your feelings about him from how you see his mocs.
Djok is one of the most humble and quiet people in the whole bionicle fandom. He never brags, antagonizes, or gives unconstructive criticism. All of a sudden it's a trend to talk about him behind his back and complain about how 'unoriginal' he is. The jealousy is palpable.

I've got no beef with him. I don't even know him as a person I just see his MOCs online, that's it. But people are starting to form this opinion. Molly said something similar and had to deal with a collective bitchfit on Instagram, I say it here and again you all spazz out like Autistic cats.Β
Its just ironic that the person who builds these amazingly characterized MOCs, gives them no actual character, and makes them so much that they're completely forgettable. Its just kinda ironic. "actual character" doesn't mean writing a description for the character and telling their life story. That's like going to an art gallery and complaining that the paintings don't have captions. It's perfectly acceptable, if not the norm in the art world, to let your art do the talking.
I agree with you, Djok's mocs are forgettable. But only because he makes like 60 mocs per year. It's pretty easy to remember somebody's mocs when they only have a few. If making mocs memorable means revamping and reposting and drawing and writing fanfics for your mocs until everyone is sick of them, then who gives a shit about it being memorable? Lego, as an art form, is not a storytelling medium. It's sculpture. You make something that looks good, and that's it. I follow 800 mocists, you can't seriously expect me to remember every single one of their mocs that pops up on my stream just because they're good mocs.

Patrick admitted in the description that this is a rehash of previous concepts, you're not calling him out at all. People like it, and he enjoys making it. That's all there is to it.
But all of a sudden you think it's a RULE of the art world that if you make art, it HAS to be original. That if you enjoy making similar art pieces, you're a bad artist.
You're so full of shit it's disgusting. Take a step back from the computer and actually think about what you're saying. You're compromising on your OWN morals because it's the only way you can insult the art of somebody you don't like. Give constructive criticism on what the art IS, not what YOU think it should be, you worthless hypocrite.

But I wasn't really commenting about the MOC itself, more that Patrick is finding this niche of his and is basically rehashing the same build but with slight changes and a different color scheme. So its more commentary on the MOCer, not the MOC. Unconstructive criticisim of a MOC is like "I don't like this thing, change it because I said so."Β
This is Patrick we're talking about, you know that right? Someone who holds himself in such high esteem that he berates the entire rest of the community with how great and original he is, right? Where his own descriptions of himself tout how he is the founder of certain styles of MOCing(which I mean the fact that people can come to those conclusions all on their own is an entire other topic of discussion).
