The Norayis System, is a focal point of the Norayis Sector which exists in my AU Abramsverse New Start series.

NORAYIS SECTOR
The Norayis Sector is located in the Alpha Quadrant
It is over 20 light years ‘south’ of Talos , 40 light years ‘east’ of the Klingon Empire and 60 light years 'west' of the Tholian Assembly.

LOCATION
The Norayis System is located eight light years from the northern edge of the sector.

SYSTEM INFO
Norayis is a binary system with two suns, 7 planets, 52 moons and an asteroid field.

High temperatures and toxic atmosphere

Class: F class (Geometalic)
Solid surface but constant volcanic eruptions

GORMISS
Class: N Class (Reducing)
Similar to Venus with high temperatures due to greenhouse effect.
There have been debates on rather or not to terraform it.

IRI
Class: J (Gas giant)
Size: Size of Neptune
Known for its vibrant blue color and unusual atmosphere.
Number of Moons: 5

KLORI
Class: J (Gas giant)
Size: Larger than Saturn.
Number of Moons: 8

MOREENA
Class: I (Supergiant)
Size: Larger than Jupiter
Number of moons: 27
Moreena is the 2nd largest planet in the sector.
It is famous for its striking colors and has been nicknamed the ‘Rainbow Planet.’
It was here that the Nlians and Tkarites first encountered each other in 2014

OTHER
Norayis Asteroid Belt
The belt has several valuable minerals that the Nlians have mined in the past

Starbase Alpha
Constructed in 2220 after Nlia joined the Federation.
It acts as a Federation presence in this sector and a juncture between the Federation and the Norayis Alliance.
It serves as a diplomatic center for the various different governments of the sector and hosts several embassies.
It also serves as a major trade and commercial hub.

Norayis Station
The headquarters of the branch of the Nlian Defense Fleet that patrols this area of space

HISTORY
First Contact
The Nlians were the first species to travel to this system.
They first arrived in 2014, not long after their species invented warp drive.
It was here that they first encountered the Tkarites when they arrived, not long afterwards.

The Norayis System was the first system, aside from their home, that the Nlians claimed as their own.
It was the first system to which they had traveled and they were the first species within the sector to reach it.
To them this was a source of quiet but deep pride.
The Tkarites respected the claim, as the system was remote and uninhabited and they were preoccupied
with their richer holdings in the ‘southern’ parts of the sector.
Over the next two centuries the Nlians never attempted to colonize the system, but did built a tiny station in 2036.
They also conducted mining operations in the asteroid belt.
As the system was halfway between Nlian and Tkara it served as a waystation for trade
In 2203 Nlia joined the Federation and construction began on Starbase Alpha

NEIGHBORS
Its closest neighbor is the Revla System, located four light years ‘North-east’.
It is home to the Nlians, who are members of the United Federation of Planets.

The second closest is the Droyana System, located about five light years ‘South’
It’s home to the Tkarites, rulers of the powerful Tkarite Freehold and founders of the Norayis Alliance, which controls half the sector

The C'Tek System is located five light years ‘south east’. It is home to the C'tekians, rulers of the C'tekian Coil
and members of the Alliance.

The Ogen System is ten light years southwest. Its a colony of the Rylarin, also members of the Alliance.

The Iskan System is fifteen light years ‘south west.’ It is home to the Rylarin, also members of the Alliance.
