Description
A current defined: flow and ebb,A sentry ship, with single bed,
Accursed wreck upon all shores,
A place forgotten by all lore.
The blasted sea which has thrown me,
To this oft-stained old floor,
The wretched feel of brine and grit,
I gaze up at the door,
The way of doom, it's curse in script,
Upon the upper rail,
This message mocking all who dare,
Journey here to curtail,
The paths of their ambitious care,
The shortcuts that they seek.
The words enscribed upon that door,
Raised high upon that stony floor,
A timeless door with upper rail,
Upon that rail these glyphs did hail:
"A single gift to those who read,
The message of our ancient creed,
Darkness in the light shall lead,
To bring into this world a seed.
To walk through this ancient door,
Upon this older ancient floor,
All trespassers to the landless land,
To open me exacts a fee,
A cost that was pre-planned."
This message from an ancient time,
In words that haunt the mortal mind,
A promise left to fulfil a deed,
Yet still remains that curse to heed.
To walk or not through that door...
