"Lin...? What's wrong...?" Aang asked gently.
"Ah. I see," he said as he listened patiently.
"Sometimes... sometimes things don't go the way we want them to...
But even if that should be... we still should never turn our backs to the ones who need and rely on us."
"Come on," Aang said with a cheerful smile.
"Let's go find your mother."
I just always loved how Lin (and Asami!) keep helping those around them despite being given so many lemons in life. They're my two favorite new characters because of it and I imagined that, at least for Lin, her heroism came from an inspiring conversation with Aang when she was young

I love this, especially with the remark on how Lin got along famously with Aang. I can imagine she didn't like him due to his easygoing nature contrasting Lin DA CHIEF in the making. But he was kind to her when she was sad or disappointed and she grew to view him as a parental figure.
