Description
New Color Spectrum, yay! This time we have Annie Hughes from Iron Giant.I tried to give Annie historically accurate dresses to showcase. The Iron Giant takes place during October of 1957, and thus her outfits are based on clothing styles from the 1950's.

Pretty cool. I really should re-watch that movie, I don't remember the mother much. But she looks awesome here, I like the purple and light blue outfits.

She was pretty sassy if I do recall and a very hard worker and dedicated to raising Hogarth.

Yes, I see then. You know, having never heard the name 'Hogarth' before, seeing the trailer and hearing the Iron Giant say that name, I thought the Iron Giant was saying it was his own name.

Knowing Mrs. Hughes, she'd rather sling lead-lined coffee than succumb to the feminine mystique...

Alas, those were the expectations of the time.

From what I gather, her husband was a fighter pilot, probably shot down over Korea. The mystique wants women to be happy via consumerism and subservience to their husbands, but as a single mother in rural Maine, Annie isn't as affected by it...
