As suggested by here is the latest addition to the Color Spectrum series, Belle.Like most of the others, I tried to give Bellehistorically accurate dresses to showcase. Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve published Beauty and the Beast in 1740 in La Jeune AmΓ©ricaine, et les Contes Marins, and thus these dresses are based on the fashions of the 1740's.

I never intended for the Color Spectrums to be used in such a way. They are not bases - they are pieces that have had a lot of thought and effort go into them. If you DO use them, then you most definitely HAVE to credit me for your own sake - people do not respond well to others taking my work without crediting me or asking permission.

Now that I think of it, these are a lot like the ones in the movie. I mean, the style and some colors. And I love Belle's face in the first panel!

I matched the colors to the colors in the movie and yes, the movie did do pretty good matching the original time period.

Oh, I absolutely love this one. All the dresses are so fantastic on her, I love them all, can't pick a favourite. Such lovely hair in all of them as well, also hard to pin down a fav. Overall one of my fav so far.

Belle is definitely one of my favorite characters and she wears the styles of her origins so very well indeed. The 1740's had some gorgeous dresses.
