shes got bolt boobies
if thats not an innuendo then i dunno what is :3
I like the weird arm the best...the tubing and wiring makes it look really intricate like a real machine of that sort would prolly be.

Yep, *ultema struck gold when creating this character. I was just trying to stay as true to it as possible. Mainly by focusing on that arm. And thats what I like about the arm. The mechanics actually look like they could function properly. So that definitley helped to draw it.

And them bolt nips are indeed a bit... phallic. lol. And yet, they work. Go figure.

HAY Those are decorative. Though I was playing with the idea of having anti gravity fields in those puppies because I know -I- wouldn't want to be running around in a supportless getup like that. Of course, I guess that's why she doesn't have to run around XD

Hmmm.... the invisible space age bra. Yep, that'd be dandy on many sides of the fence. But in my opnion, technically speaking, I thought the outfit DID have support from the corset part of the outfit. While the red sash part just kinda held them back. But hey. every little bit helps I suppose.

A little tiny bit yeah XD not enough to be tremendous if one had to run through. I guess that's why she's always in a squad, so if the time comes to run she can be like "CARRY ME D:"

Problem with that tactic? The groups would get into a 5 knuckle scuffle on who gets dibs when they SHOULD be running.

Another really good one, another question since I know what your drawing with how do you start the drawings might I ask with basic lines and shapes and then erase them when you ahve to basic finish done, cause I seriously dont see any pencil marks in the background to show any mistakes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Self-InFiction In reply to ZigNoff [2007-03-02 19:47:00 +0000 UTC]

Yea, I start off wit a simple frame. Than add some shapes. THAN I go into some deeper details. All done with the blueline pencil. And here's why. The blue pencil comes out really REALLY light unless applied quite aggresively. As a result, when scanned, most of the blueline deosn't show up. So all those nastly little pre-drawing details won't show up, but they are on the actual drawing.

So now when I print out a copy to ink, and scan the ink version, none of the blueline will show up whatsoever. And if any of it does, its a simple task to get rid of it in photoshop using the hue/saturation option.

Hope that helps. Also, I don't have a steady hand at all either. Its just a matter of learning how to work with the "swoops" of it. Straight lines through constant motion.

AHhh I see, thank you very much, you work is very excellent I like it alot, even if they not your character your abilities are incrediable.

Where do you get the Blue Pencils btw any special art store ot something only online?

Self-InFiction In reply to ZigNoff [2007-03-02 20:38:04 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, man.

As for Blue Pencils, they're actually a pain in the ass to find for some reason. I had gotten on at Pearl Paint. Which is a pretty hardcore art store. But I'm not sure if they're a chain outside of Jersey. I guess you can check with art teachers at local schools to recommend good stores in your area.

But I recently got blueline graphite to put in a lead/graphite holder at MisterArt.com . Let's see if I can find the links for both the lead and the graphite holder for you. (The pencils are cheaper btw, but last as long as a normal pencl would)

Blueline leads: [link]
Basic Lead Holder: [link]

Hope that helps you out a bit.

Thank you I'll look into that, sadly we dont have a heavy art store, Hobbylobby is about here where I live in Indiana lol, heck not even a good art store withien 100 miles IF that lol, but I'll keep and eye and out and chekc those links thanks again.

Thank you.

I gather from the works in your gallery that you have a high appreciation for the combination of strong yet feminine. That's something I usually try to strive for when working on female characters. There's definitely more personality in it.

I always loved mecha, partially out of envy, because i can't draw it at all..>_>
But this is amazinggg. I like the contraption on her arm! You did a really good job on the details. :0

Self-InFiction In reply to Dumago [2007-03-01 10:05:43 +0000 UTC]

I'm not big on drawing mecha either, but the character was too cool to pass up on putting that arm in there. I refuse to not give my all for a contest winner, so I definitely went out of my way to get that arm done. Than strangely, for the first time ever, the mechanics of it weren't hard to draw. lol. It was definitely worth the effort.

Thanks for checking it out. I'm glad you're diggin it.

Thanks. Actually, these are just the pencils. I still plan on inking it when I get the chance. I'd do it in photoshop, but I don't have a tablet. I think it'd take waaaay too long by mouse.

Aaaah! I love what you did with her! I'm really fond of her leg shape, they're really awesome Fantastic go with the arm too! Got the lettering down pat. Just FYI it's "FAU" in stylized letters. I know it's tough to read. I also really love how you handled her hair! Oh screw it I love the whole thing. Would you like to be one of my permanent Art Trade Partners?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Self-InFiction In reply to ultema [2007-02-27 02:37:31 +0000 UTC]

lol. The way you do art? OH HELL YEA!! That'd be friggin awesome! D D

I'm really glad you like it. I was hoping I didn't go to far off the reservation in overall look. I wasn't too concerned about the details so much as capturing the character herself. But I think I did alright. And the arm was actually pretty fun once I got a look on how you put it together. Don't know if you realized it or not, but you drew it in pieces that look like they'd actually function. It had a mix of crane, car, and even computer tech mechanics in there. It made it a tad easier after that.

But I like drawing hair. For some reason I've come up with my own style to drawing it that just looks cool. But as I said, I'm just glad you're happy with it. And I think I know how the letters are to look know that I know what they say.

....now all I gotta do is ink the thing. lol.

It's all good! When people add their own flair it makes it that much more interesting I think I am in love with hydrolics and all kinds of random mechanical parts, so I tried to think of what would physically work, but I'm glad it made it a little easier

XD Take your time! But thank you again
