You get that he should not even MEET him, at best??
Nothing ... ... nothing ... ... n~ooooooothing should be done, that makes Vegeta think and wonder about Earth and Humans/Mankind and so on. If Vegeta is finding out that Trunks is a Half-Sayan and even possesses the legendary Powers of a Supersayan, he could be SO. BUSY. with thinking about how that is possible, that "Bulma" could completely vanish from any kind of Importance in Vegeta's future thoughts.
And Trunks can not just say to Vegeta Stuff like: " Hey, Father. Please f*PEEP* this Earthling-Woman on this Picture here in like One to Two Years, so i get born. "
