its so easy to become emotionally detached from this piece because the root of all our fears is the subconscience realization of our own death. its the ego that holds for dear life but the body knows its purpose; that it would be recycled to the cosmos once again. haunting and mesmerizing piece of art. +devwatch & +fav

Judging by the amount of comments, you must surely know that this is a great piece. The composition of all the elements holds together beautifully and ties in nicely with the reference to Daphne. Also, I fear that computer screen is not doing this piece justice and would rather see it as wall hanging.
It was hard to pick a favourite from your gallery in this style but I consider this to be the stand out.
I will wait (impatiently) for more.

Another kick ass piece. I love how you've got the feeling that she knows her life is about to end, and I think that all the illumination around her, since it's kind of scattered, brings that out as well. I totally love that figure, it's not a sculpture by any chance is it? I'd love to get one and put it in water or something.

reminds me of one of those mummys we have here, in guanajuato. hehe. it's a scary place... like a museum, but full of dead and momified bodies.

............................! Man, I'm going to have to reserve my comments till I move on to your next work. It's like being in a serious boxing match. Every pic I look at just hits harder and gets better than the one I just looked at. ANd that's not easy, because they're all great. Threee faves now in a row.

do you see things before you create them, or do they come out of a rush of creativity - the final product unknown until you see it? it's got a visual hook (corpse), and there are so many other little things for my eyes to see... great piece.

i dont know which one i like better.
the other one i liked because it was darker
but this one i like the background textures more. and i guess fits the subject better.
hmmm either way i think its a very well presented and created piece =c)
nice blending as well.
just wondering where you got the corpse from? could come in handy one day.

Ooh yeah, this version accentuates those roots and the lighting of the mummified corpse is less washed-out. Nice textures in the background, though I liked the red color and detail of the foliage in the first version more. Either way, great job! +faves

I'm roaming around devart and wanted to comment on this piece because I luv it so much!
I like this version more because you can see all the fine details - very organic and eerie. You've done a great job of expressing the myth here.
Welcome to my fave gallery!

Wow! Deep...
I relly love the branches and stuff, but the black "dots" (leaves?) at the top looks kind of, i dunno, wrong...

I love art that's meaningful AND looks good, as most art is either one or the other, but not both at the same time. This is awesome.

Hmm, I do like the contrast on this one a bit more, but I like it just as much as the first one! I don't really see a large "improvement" from the original version, they are both very excellent in different ways. I must say I like the crimson leaves in the first one, and overall it had a much more mysterious quality to it, this one is flatter, more like a presentation of "daphne" rather than the first, where it was like the viewer was sneaking up upon this scene, this moment, this emotion.
Very nice job on both, doll

This really grates at the essence of mortality for me, i can almost feel my skin wrinkle.. Our roots being in the earth and returning to the dust.
I'm adding this to my favorites because frankly it unnerves me and i like to be faced with a little reality ever now and then.
