Story:
His hooves made hollow echoes as he entered into the stables, a cold wind rushed over him making his hair stand on end. The place was dark, the only light coming from the small skylights above the aisle and the windows on each stall. Which in reality only let in the cruel cold. Cal sighed as it felt like this particular stable was void of life. “HEY!!” the call nearly made the stallion jump out of skin. All of the sudden there was a desperate face looking towards him. Large fearful eyes seemed to stare into his soul. Cal’s ears laid back in uncertainty as three more mares draped their heads over their stall doors one by one.

A worried expression settled on the stallion’s face. He hadn’t been this close to the ranch before. He knew the horses were kept up, not able to roam free, but this.. This was worse than he had imagined. The humans just left these mares trapped in a wooden box with no disregard about what would happen to them. What they would go through before passing of hunger, cold, or predators. He had to help them.

With great care Cal started to look for a way to free the mares he had came across. Precaution was necessary. He didn’t need to get himself trapped in this hell hole either. It would be no help to the mares nor his love back in the woods. So with determination the silver maned stallion set to work.
