Description This is really more of a fleshed out sketch but I spent a few hours staring at a sky with clouds moving so fast that I thought this would be a good fit for today.

This might actually be more of a landscape.

The harsh divde here was what I wanted.

Thanks for viewing.

Really great looking. I love the contrast between the detailed lower part and the blurry upper part (the sky). Really amazing looking.
I saw you used some kind of symbols/letters in this piece. Where are those from?

I have an alphabet I made...oh probably when I was 12. I use this a bit when I need to render something using text but don't want th emotional or allegorical weight of language. This is not actually the case in this image though, these are Roman characters I believe but made to recall certain scripts possibly Hebrew. It has been a long time since I made the work.

Thanks very much for seeing it and taking time to share your insights. I really do appreciate that.

Keep up the good work!

I embed subtle elements of mind control in each work.

Pretty soon you will sincerely believe that Neil Diamond is one of the rockin-est men alive.

Ooh, nice. I like the smeared/smudged feel of the sky part and the overall style of the bottom one.

Handescape. Heh.

Yano what's odd? I didn't notice a 'division' as I just notice some commenters mention. This seem..all of a piece.

I must be going insane, here. Heh.

What medium do you use when you draw the clouds? And the man with no pants?

How do I start..drawing like this stuff you do? Where should I begin? I'm serious.

Heather, me like. As usual. You must have my wiring in your toolbelt somehow, senor. You and John ~ ArmorFelix2001 Who'da thunk it. Me. Into artists and poets. Coolio.

Storytime:

When I was, oh, small or so--I am old, Christ, can I be expected to remember details? (my accountant does that; and I pay him well. *grin*)--my parents took me to learn swimming. This is all rather vague. I know I was in Baltimore. I cannot FATHOM the location of the pool. I just remember walking into an enclosed structure, you know, like a school, or the Y or something.

A person, an instructor, perhaps, told me to get into the pool and let him see me swim. I got in, barely over four foot tall, as I recall (as I sense my biggest issue was, I needed to touch the bottom, I'd never been in a deep end of the pool.) I swam a bit, I guess, and somehow BASED on my movements, the instructor ushered me to the deep end, where he expected me to jump in--I suppose; again, this is all rather vague.

What I mean to say, is, people always seemed to look at me and point me for the deep end of things--all my life, it would appear. Now, I grant you, I long since got over my fear of water over my hand, and if I scrunched my eyes up enough, I am sure I could tell you of a few things that still scare me mudfuck....

but I always seem to end up..at the deep end. *grin* Ready to just jump in.

What you have described--and again, I find it interesting that you have done this again, and you are one of very few, I have met, of late, to do so (Everyone else is clinging like a leaf to a tree or something; it's rather boring)--is just the way I view doing things. Just stick on your horny boots, saddle up, and ride.

Thank you, Senecal. I will. I am--I think. Heh.

The wiring is in us all I think.
Just a matter of letting go of that little voice that says "Hey get a real job, be an accountant".

Maybe some people have a passion for cunching numbers and that's cool. I jsut astart with sketching and keep reminding myself that whatever happens is not a mistake and then refine it back (like pulling back the reins of unruly horses maybe) until I get some control and can steer it away from the cliff. Or sometimes I go over it but I always wake up before hitting the bottom of the ravine.

The clouds, and all of this is Photoshop. I either use a brush set to somewhere between 30 or 125, spacing off and often enabling 'Wet Edges'. I also smudge sometimes but not so much that it starts to look like a typical over smudged psd (that's "p" hoto "s" hop "d" ocument).

The best thing to do is jump into the program and start kicking. I liken the experience to poking a large large dragon.

At first, it will not respond and the results will be so so, then after some time, you learn which buttons to push and the beast will open a sleepy eye and growl. At which point you look at your image and realize, hey something cool here is happening.

Fast forward some years and you now know how to wake that bastard up and run like hell while it storms around. There is amazing potential for the right power wielder in that application. I am trying to get to the point where I can throw a saddle on that dragon and ride him around like some kind of circus elephant. 9 times out of 10 it will throw me back on my ass and stand on my throat until I pass out and wake up with keyboard indentations on my face at 4AM realizing I have to be get back to work in 3 hours.

So, ya gotta jump in the water.

I think it's my humility that makes me so great.

I'm so utterly lost in the details of both sections...how the colors fade and bounce from eachother in the sky in such a lovely mix, to the intricate lines and shapes forming the torso and legs. Brilliant work.
