Description (Our Warring Tribes)

Huzzah to the DRYfish gang!

In other news...
I am considering picking up an Epson 2400 for archival printing.
Does anyone have any pros/cons about this device?

Thanks for viewing.

Beautiful. I love the complexity and the tones and also the slight sci-fi feeling here. Very good work.

I love this, it's digital, but seems very traditional in it's look and feel, you've done a wonderful job!

Excellent detail. I'd like to see this printed with your epson

how do you create your fractions normally? Is this done in PS?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Senecal In reply to rawimage [2007-08-10 23:48:41 +0000 UTC]

Thanks you I am happy you came to see it!

In fact, I did make a print on the epson and it is wonderful!
I really like the printer.

Hmmm, I think I do not fully understand the "fractions" meaning.
All of this work is Photoshop, and I paint it using a stylus and tablet.

Thanks very much for visiting, I am glad to speak with you!

rawimage In reply to Senecal [2007-08-11 14:25:52 +0000 UTC]

I added this printer to my amazon wishlist, maybe one day...

hm, I think I had fractures in mind not fractions. i tried to find a word which discribes the style of your work with all thos bits and pieces. Do you think you could record and action the next time you do something like owt_01? I always had in mind to animate the process of deconstruction. In fact I started to do some tests. here's a little appetizer (divx) [link] and [link]

I actually picked up the 1800, it meets the official "Digigraphie" standards for an 8-color Ultrachrome and is archival to a range of 104-200 years. Full color with gloss optimization... the prints are luscious and vibrant. I love it. The independent ink system is also nice.

Another great one, how long do these usually take you? And what program do you use?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Senecal In reply to Sunjo [2007-05-10 04:11:26 +0000 UTC]

This one... I think was over the course of 2 days, so like 4-5 hrs a day, maybe then a total 8-10 hrs.
I only use Photoshop. Well, I like the idea of other programs but am only fluent in PS.

great sense of organic breakdown in mechanical/geometric form. very inventive. and i like the subtle addition of blue tones in the echo, it breaks the panels up nicely.

Thanks very much. Yeah the green sorta just lodged in there and stuck.
There are some connotations...Spring, rebirth and of course, the color association of certain religions play a small part in the overall too.
Glad you stopped by to check it out. It's always an honor!

Damn that is awesome, it’s going on my shoutboard for sure. I think the wider range of hues and the lighter background on the right help give it more depth, but the green wash on the left brings it’s own impact. The same sea, different waters.

As far as the printer it’s not my area, but I do remember luminous landscape had an article on the new line [link] and they are a reliable source on this kind of thing, and also I saw a related story come over the RSS the other day [link] . May help a little
