Description An illustration for MAS-Zine. Not their usual fare, but oh well.

I'm not sure if it will be liked for the anthology, but oh well.

I should be drawing something else, but oh well.

The MAS-Zine people will be at Yaoicon. Yay!

The story was fascinating, and lyrical, and a little odd. But itflipped my cookie, and will continue to do so when I get my very own copy.

This took 3 hours.

This is really lovely, interesting composition and angles! I'll have to check out that opencanvas program sometimes. I've seen lots of great work produced with it recently.

Thanks. The majority of it was completed in Photoshop 7, with a little smoothing work done in OC. You can find the program for free pretty easily, it's got a great brush engine.

Like Alex Ross, I am a total tracer.
The lighting came about on it's own, both original models had the extreme lighting styles, and I just added onto it until it had a new interpretation.
Thanks.

i REALLY like that.... the different textures and light and the hint of a vector look.... i absolutely love the little galaxy type thing on the bottom girl's cheek. it's really gorgeous, fullview makes it so much better. i love the blank kind of lightless look on the bottom girl's eye, and i LOVE the way you've highlighted the top girl's upper cheek and eyeball, making her look almost maniacal. i can absolutely feel the adrenaline and the sparks... the weight of the two bodies... and i love the way the lips go together.... the open mouth on the top girl, wet lips and a bit of a smile, and the other girl with her mouth open just a little feeling the sparks in her mouth at close quarters. i love this picture because it makes me feel everything i'm looking at, even if i could never begin to imagine what it might feel like.
excellent job.

I love this! What a wonderful illustration. Your concepts just amaze me. So imaginative, how did the idea for this come to you?

The fic itself was the inspiration. The main character, named Moth by the way (damn them for stealing the name before I had a chance to write anything) is cursed with the dreams of others. Lucifer takes them away. There's also the central theme of electricity in the story.

All the stories I'm illustrating are centered around angels and demons. Funny.

Now that I know a little something about the meaning of the pic, it's even more clever. You've got a fabulous imagination. XD
There _does_ seem to be an angel/demon theme going on. Hmmmm.

By the way, this will be for the same story that "Lucifer" was created for. A little different in the style, but hey, this year I'm working for free.

I used photoshop to get the faces done, then did the hair strands in Open Canvas. Open canvas has a really nice paint engine, and is under 1mb, designed to be shareware. If you don't already have it, I suggest you download a copy.

Ooh. Very pretty.

I'm all into the shading and monochrome-ness (??). Monochrome rocks my world.

A+ for you! ;D

I love perfume ads. Aren't they brilliant? You can take two of them and put them across from each other and it looks like they're kissing, or something.

I bought more pirate shoes. I am almost ready to requisition a ship.

HAH! sweet work! i love that spiral galaxy hidden in the shadow of her cheek and you did a good job with the lightning---tell me why is this formatted so square? it occurrs to me that most magazines are rectangular? so how are you getting away with this format?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

seneschal In reply to oedalis [2004-07-19 06:55:52 +0000 UTC]

It was the format she wanted. I think.
She worded it in metric, so I could be wrong.. oh well.

I'm going to do a full page soon. when I can figure out which one.
