Cupcakes - they make you happier.This whole comic thing started in school where I drawed a thumbnail like version of this here, then liking the idea and making a bigger paper sketch, scanning it in and well - here you see what happened next^^

You know, I'm kinda tired of some people who see Pinkie mention cupcakes and immediately think of the fan fiction.
Can't they just be heading to Sugar Cube Corner to have some cupcakes and Apple cider with their friends?
Always strikes me as odd that some can take such a simple word like cupcakes and automatically imagine it in the worst possible way.
Anyway, sorry, I had to get that off my chest. I've seen that happen way to many times and its annoying.
I like the comic though. I like how Pinkie seems to be the one giving Twilight (who isn't the Princess of Friendship here, obviously, since this comic came out before that, but will at some point become the Princess of Friendship) a friendship lesson. I always like how Pinkie seems to know more about the magic of friendship then Twilight, which is sometimes true even after she becomes a princess.

Wow, I suddenly had a wave of nostalgia while reading this. The style, layout, and tone reminded me very much of some of the old Dark Horse Presents comics, specifically the issues where they would print groups of small independent introspective stories that didn't have anything to do with gunfights or aliens or super powers or anything like that.
Good job on that, if that was what you were aiming for.

I guess it wouldn't be better really given the emotional element of the comic but hey what if you just coloured in Pinkie and then at the end when Twilight gains a positive outlook you could colour her. As if you were tracking their emotions.

Nothing will stop people complaining, not on youtube, not on facebook and certainly not on deviantart. But I'm glad you like my idea perhaps I could colour it for you?(it wouldn't be perfect I'm no proffessional), I imagine many people already have and just haven't told you. I would greatly enjoy a chance at a pseudo collaboration if you wouldn't mind of course.

Really fun style and an good messages, under the bit-too-douche-y Pinkie Pie.
Now, I know you've probably heard it before, and weren't actually writing Pinkie as a jerk, but, in all honesty, I felt that
A) it's OOC for Pinkie; I'd expect her to be like "That's silly, Twilight! Thinking about being small is boooooooooooooooring - you could be eating cupcakes and having BIG parties instead!" with her big ol' goofy Pinkie Pie smile,
B) while we can see that Twilight is getting herself depressed over being small, she could have just as easily been happily looking at the stars, and then would Pinkie's actions/words been right? I love looking at the stars and thinking about how much bigger everything is; it fascinates me greatly. I'd be a little unimpressed if a friend of mine sat down next to me and said, "Philosophy and thinking about the universe is stupid! Come party!"
Anyways, again, I do like it, barring my small issues with Pinkie here, and you're the artist/writer, so this is all your call and I have no right to tell you to change it; I just thought I'd point these little things, so take 'em or leave 'em at your discretion.

I certainly wont change it, for that would mean for me to denie my mistakes and I would not like that^^
But yeah, I could have done better, but thats what happens when I think about a comic while Im in school - no such thinking about things like spacing for text. Actually the conversation between them lasted longer, clearifying most of what is not so good and everything, also showing clearly that ts is depressed, not having fun looking at the stars.
Maybe Ill remake this at some point, maybe not, but it certainly gave me more experience with showing a message, and people like you make it possible to me to see what exactly I did wrong, where I could have worked more on etc.

This is totally off topic, but I just came from reading a long argument over on fimfiction, and I had to reread your reply about three times before I stopped reading it in a very angry tone.
I hear you: I've always had a problem with text in comics because I'm big into dialogue, and my writing is almost always dialogue heavy. It can be rather difficult to translate the right amount of it over to comics without the whole thing looking cluttered, or without cutting your dialogue down to 1/10 of what you planned.
I'm simply pleased to see a sensible (which is funny because of your username) artist/writer behind the work; I've grown tired of all these artists/writers that think they're above constructive criticism, and take every piece of advice like a personal attack.

Im really appreciate that you took your time and re read my text and did not just respond on a whim^^ I had many unecessary arguments with friends just because one of us interpreted the others text wrong :/
The problem on this comic was, that I created text and comic without having the other one at hand. It actually started in the brake in school, just as a thumbnail to get past the school time... and then it went overboard. xP
I am actually really glad about every advice I can grab, but its rarely the case that someone actually points out what was wrong, or says it in a matter that I may understand what the person is trying to tell me. You actually pointed out the things you didnt like in a fashion that I can see what I have to approve upon
And with that said, thank you for that nice little chat, its great to talk with a reasonable person on the internet!

She did not just went up on twilight and told her shes doing something stupid, just when she started saying how small we are, pinkie took action and stopped her. Twilight got herself in a cycle of selfdoubt and depression, Pinkie saw that and pulled her out^^
