Cool head man, i think u just jumped into the detailing aspects of it a bit to soon and didn't focus on the main construction of the face structures and muscles. Keep on mud boxing!!! the new update has texture features to like zbrush, but once zbrush 3 comes out its gona rock completly .

Cool man! I'm looking to start doing some humanoid modeling. I was thinking about Mudbox for detailing because I really really hate Z-Brush. What is your opinion on Mudbox? Have you used Z-Brush? If so.. which do you think is better [for detailing humanoids/creatures]?
Thanks for any help/info.

It's like everything, the small simple things get small simple things done quickly and easily..
mudbox has a great feel and is quick and easy, you can add a lot of detail, but it's only really for modeling and misses out on a few of zbrush's more advanced features..
I tihnk they both have trial versions, download them and try them both

Ok.. cool. I've used Z-Brush but I hate the interface. I'll give mudbox a try.

Bah! Nonsense!
Those flame tests you did looked very real. And flame/smoke is hard! An old guy is simple compared to that.
