👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sentimentalfreak In reply to WiZE183 [2007-04-29 08:12:08 +0000 UTC]

just standard vray material, light grey, some rough fresnel reflection, in newer vray you probably have to tick "clamp output" and "subpixel mapping" to get rid of those bad aa edges on light areas

can u tell me the settings of the renderer u used here? thanks

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sentimentalfreak In reply to spit--fire [2007-04-09 11:16:45 +0000 UTC]

vray - the settings were pretty straight forward standard GI

Sun - a very small vray light (sphere) a large distance away with no falloff
Sky - blue environment (with a high multiplier)
Material - light grey with about .5~.3 ref. glossiness (maybe 30 subdivs)

glow in photoshop

Is HDRI used for lighting? How long did the render take?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sentimentalfreak In reply to wotanist [2006-12-19 06:06:20 +0000 UTC]

there was a very small sphere light a long way away and a hdri.. i can't remember how long it took to render, probably a couple of hours

Thunor In reply to ??? [2006-10-07 23:08:39 +0000 UTC]

This is some of the nicest rendering I've seen. Any specs on it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sentimentalfreak In reply to Thunor [2006-10-08 13:33:36 +0000 UTC]

ummm it's pretty simple really, i should go and re-do it..

the room was one of my earliest max modelling attempts, just a near white vray material with a roughness of about .5 or .6, hdri environment with high multiplier.. to get enough in through the little holes, and a vraylight .. just a sphere, really small, a long way away with a high multiplier aswell

my teacher said it was too advanced for one course, she only taught us Mental Ray and just the super basics, nothing good.
