The Gods' Temples are completely independent of any country's jurisdiction, and like Phrellia they are open to all. They are situated all around the world, each overseen by a Head Priest. The walls of each Temple are adorned with murals of that Element's Hyperions. As proof of the divinity of the Temples, the murals shift and change according to new births and deaths. Those who have begun a Magic pilgrimage but wish to settle, or those who simply seek a simple, monastic life, may migrate to a Temple. However, unlike Phrellia's researched and peer-reviewed documents, the literature retained in the Temples are confirmed to have been passed down from ancient times and blessed by the Gods. Therefore, the Temples receive the greatest amount of reverence by the other countries and are always left alone. Scholars and monks who have settled at a Temple are forbidden to again leave the place unless granted special permission by their Head Priest. They are understood to be neutral and pacifist, and it is unknown if any of the Temples actually maintain a warrior monk order. (It was revealed in Season 1 that they do, in fact.)
If one enters a Temple seeking baptism, he should seek out the Head Priest. However, Awakened characters must speak to their respective Elemental Gods in order to master their Hyperions. In this case, they are led back to a special chamber in which they alone can enter and meditate, and if deemed worthy, are contacted by the God.
In FFC all the male priests are bald. Aeris’s hair grew long as a result of her traveling and being on her own for so long; normally priestesses keep their hair at a manageable, modest length. As of Season 2 most of them have of course aged one year; hence, the ages below reflect ages in Season 2.
