Personality:
    Lin has a cheerful, though not always sensible personality. She's a tactile person who doesn't have a personal bubble and learns best through experience and touch. Unfortunately this often means she learns things the hard way. Being candid with her speech, Lin often says what's on her mind with little filter and for this reason, at least she's genuine. There's no hiding or sneakiness with Lin's behaviour; what you see is what you get. This makes her seem rather simple at first glance, but she's got a strong personality and pride that makes her a touch bull-headed (Pun intended, she's a Taurus). Her stubbornness extends to her tendency to stand her ground and accept any challenge that comes her way, thinking she can plough right through it as she has done with most everything in her life.

    Lin deeply values aesthetic beauty and anything that she finds pleasing to her senses. A constant romantic, if and when she falls for something or someone, Lin is incredibly loyal and trusting. She's willing to overlook any flaws in other people and believes in the inherent good of mankind, in alignment with her faith (Zen Buddhism, instilled in her by her father). This has caused a broken heart in her more than once, but while she manages to bounce back well enough, she expresses her anger and frustration via passive aggression, especially those who have broken her trust. Ability in Use: Botanokinesis

    ~.:.| 1/ Accelerated Growth: Her Botanokinesis allowes her to accelerate growth of nearby plants, which includes seeds that she keeps on her person. Certain plants like vines and thorn bushes can be grown suddenly from seeds that can restrain an enemy. She can guide the direction of the growth to suit her purposes. She can also get a plant to shrivel up if need be--but she hates to do that; much easier to just move it away.
          Restrictions: Trying to grow too many plants or grow too many too fast saps her energy immensely to the point where she can't keep up the ability. She's extremely weak against fire or lightning, as well as poisons that would kill her plants. She also has a 25 foot radies of effectiveness with plants she can control well and a weaker control out to 50 feet. After that it's near impossible for her to affect the plants. She also cannot just create plants from thin air. Thus if a place is barren and there's no plant life within reach, her powers are null.

    ~.:.| 2/ Plant Communication: Lin can tap into the life aura of plants in a form of "communication" that can ascertain if, for example, something is buried near the roots of a tree, if there's a toxin in a plant's system, if anything is weighing down on a tree's branchs. She can feel what a plant feels through it's rudimentary senses of any weight, touch and presence of light and water. She can also tell if the plant has undergone any trauma recently in the 'aura' of the life and health in flora.
        Restrictions: She has to be in physical contact with the plants. While she can sense plantlife nearby, she can only tap into the sense of a plant if she's touching it, at which point she must remain still in concentration, and loses most awareness of the world around her as she focuses on the world of the plant. Trying to talk to a plant for too long or delving too deeply could cause her to lose her awareness into it, though it has never gotten that bad. More often than not if she spends more than ten minutes in 'communication' with a plant, she passes out from exhaustion as communicating with a plant seems to be more draining than controlling a plant.

    ~.:.| 3/ Photosynthesis: A form of partial plant-mimicry. She can, for brief periods of time, absorb anything that has living chloroplasts (e.g. green leaves) to be used in her skin to create food and energy to sustain herself on sunlight and water. So far she's discovered that this turns her hands green and gives her some extra energy that's useful in conjuction with her ability to use Wushu to fight.
            Restrictions: So far this only works if she has some plant matter to absorb, she cannot just rearrange the DNA in her skin. Since Chloroplasts cannot survive in animal cells, the absorbed plant matter only lasts in her skin for a few hours before her skin rejects it, resulting in green skin simply shed from whatever parts she had absorbed the plant matter. Currently any area larger than the sum total of her hands that have absorbed plant matter makes her sick and she simply cannot absorb more without immense nausea and general discomfort.

Background:
      Lin was born to Gen and Lien Zhao after they emigrated from China to America, where Gen Zhao (Lin’s Father) established a Martial Art’s school of Kung Fu, which he learnt from his father before him. Lin’s mother died while Lin was very young from an unexplained accident that caused a massive fire in the garden that she had so meticulously kept in the backyards of the Martial Arts studio.
While trying to put out the fire, her mother had gotten pinned under a burning metal gate that had crumbled under the flames that engulfed the bamboo nearby. Lin, who had run out before Gen had stopped her, saw the moment when the metal gate fell and the flames completely blocked her view of her mother. From that day forward, even though she wouldn’t remember it exactly, the implicit fear of fire remained with her to the present day.

  After the disaster, Lin had walked along the ruins of the garden her mother loved so dearly and cried. Hearing her, Gen had come out to get her away from the blackened plants when something incredible happened. A few of Lin’s teardrops had fallen upon one of the pots that had herbs Lien had been growing most carefully. As if reacting to Lin’s tears and feelings, the herbs grew at an accelerated rate before his eyes and reached up as if to caress and catch the child’s own tears. Not knowing that a dormant gene in his daughter had activated from the shock and trauma of the loss of her mother and the fire, he swept her away from the plant, which ceased growing as Lin got further away from it. To this day it remained healthy and growing in his garden.
As the years went by and he taught Lin the ways of his family’s Kung Fu, it became apparent her affinity with plants and the various abilities she had over and with Flora. It had become common place to him and Lin, but a secret to keep from all outsiders. After a stranger came by to look at the school and subsequently the garden while Lin was tending to it, the Zhao family got a mysterious letter from the Aurum Investigation Agency for the Supernatural. Even after all the research she did to find out all she could about the Agency, Lin wasn’t particularly convinced to join. She had never used her plant abilities for anything more than the tending of her mother’s garden, but ultimately Gen was the one who convinced her to take the job. After all, she had no interest in teaching Wushu, but she did have a strong drive to help others in any way she could. He convinced her that this agency seemed to be the best way to do it.

With her father’s blessing, Lin sent her acceptance to the Agency and prepared to go into the work of Investigating the Supernatural.

EDIT 1:
Since joining the agency, Lin's made a tonne of friends and gone on a number of cases that involved fighting ghosts and at one point, a manticore that left her with a few burns. There's light scarring from the burn blast on her left forearm. she also got a hairline fracture on her left fibula during a case with Ian that left her down for a month. A little before that she got a pet cat, Zi Hao. A month after that she took a vacation back home where her father helped her though her phobia of fire and she's now cured of the irrational fear.
Upon returning and learning that she missed the halloween debacle, she spent the rest of december taking smaller local cases and recovering her resting leg back to it's usual potential. She also ended up on a date that surprised even her after a game of darts with Zachary.
During the New Years party she spent time with all her friends and ended up sharing a wish that happened to be near idencical to Zachary's, to both of their surprises.
Now in a fledgling relationship and with a host of close friends in the agency, Lin is more than eager to continue her work in the new year, starting with a mission to Norway.

  Ambition:

+Ian (Psi) - Best Friendship; When Lin metIan, it had been under Calvin's Love Potion mishap situation. She had kissed him once on the Viennese giant ferris wheel, but the potion wore off right after that. After a period of flusteredness, she's become best buddies with the guy.

+Rais (Secundus) - Friend; After meeting him for her first case, Lin next encountered the master Agent taking a nap in the Atrium with Heba. She has learnt he works in his garage and thinks Magnolias are pretty. Shes also helped him shopping for dresses as well as talked with him and Eon during the new Years party

She can, for brief periods of time, absorb anything that has living chloroplasts (e.g. green leaves) to be used in her skin to create food and energy to sustain herself on sunlight and water. So far she's discovered that this turns her hands green and gives her some extra energy that's useful in conjuction with her ability to use Wushu to fight.
            Restrictions: So far this only works if she has some plant matter to absorb, she cannot just rearrange the DNA in her skin. Since Chloroplasts cannot survive in animal cells, the absorbed plant matter only lasts in her skin for a few hours before her skin rejects it, resulting in green skin simply shed from whatever parts she had absorbed the plant matter. Currently any area larger than the sum total of her hands that have absorbed plant matter makes her sick and she simply cannot absorb more without immense nausea and general discomfort.

Background:
      Lin was born to Gen and Lien Zhao after they emigrated from China to America, where Gen Zhao (Lin’s Father) established a Martial Art’s school of Kung Fu, which he learnt from his father before him. Lin’s mother died while Lin was very young from an unexplained accident that caused a massive fire in the garden that she had so meticulously kept in the backyards of the Martial Arts studio.
While trying to put out the fire, her mother had gotten pinned under a burning metal gate that had crumbled under the flames that engulfed the bamboo nearby. Lin, who had run out before Gen had stopped her, saw the moment when the metal gate fell and the flames completely blocked her view of her mother. From that day forward, even though she wouldn’t remember it exactly, the implicit fear of fire remained with her to the present day.

  After the disaster, Lin had walked along the ruins of the garden her mother loved so dearly and cried. Hearing her, Gen had come out to get her away from the blackened plants when something incredible happened. A few of Lin’s teardrops had fallen upon one of the pots that had herbs Lien had been growing most carefully. As if reacting to Lin’s tears and feelings, the herbs grew at an accelerated rate before his eyes and reached up as if to caress and catch the child’s own tears. Not knowing that a dormant gene in his daughter had activated from the shock and trauma of the loss of her mother and the fire, he swept her away from the plant, which ceased growing as Lin got further away from it. To this day it remained healthy and growing in his garden.
As the years went by and he taught Lin the ways of his family’s Kung Fu, it became apparent her affinity with plants and the various abilities she had over and with Flora. It had become common place to him and Lin, but a secret to keep from all outsiders. After a stranger came by to look at the school and subsequently the garden while Lin was tending to it, the Zhao family got a mysterious letter from the Aurum Investigation Agency for the Supernatural. Even after all the research she did to find out all she could about the Agency, Lin wasn’t particularly convinced to join. She had never used her plant abilities for anything more than the tending of her mother’s garden, but ultimately Gen was the one who convinced her to take the job. After all, she had no interest in teaching Wushu, but she did have a strong drive to help others in any way she could. He convinced her that this agency seemed to be the best way to do it.

With her father’s blessing, Lin sent her acceptance to the Agency and prepared to go into the work of Investigating the Supernatural.

EDIT 1:
Since joining the agency, Lin's made a tonne of friends and gone on a number of cases that involved fighting ghosts and at one point, a manticore that left her with a few burns. There's light scarring from the burn blast on her left forearm. she also got a hairline fracture on her left fibula during a case with Ian that left her down for a month. A little before that she got a pet cat, Zi Hao. A month after that she took a vacation back home where her father helped her though her phobia of fire and she's now cured of the irrational fear.
Upon returning and learning that she missed the halloween debacle, she spent the rest of december taking smaller local cases and recovering her resting leg back to it's usual potential. She also ended up on a date that surprised even her after a game of darts with Zachary.
During the New Years party she spent time with all her friends and ended up sharing a wish that happened to be near idencical to Zachary's, to both of their surprises.
Now in a fledgling relationship and with a host of close friends in the agency, Lin is more than eager to continue her work in the new year, starting with a mission to Norway.

+Ian (Psi) - Best Friendship; When Lin metIan, it had been under Calvin's Love Potion mishap situation. She had kissed him once on the Viennese giant ferris wheel, but the potion wore off right after that. After a period of flusteredness, she's become best buddies with the guy.
