Finally, on the third day it happened. Neji’s icey façade at last crumbled. The stone wall he had become; devoid of emotion, in the end, came crashing down. He had been broken, but the pieces had not shattered…
Until now…
“Why?” The devastated Hyuga fell to his knees; his whispered cry carrying the weight of his heart, as chilling tears slowly streamed down his anguished face.
He wasn’t sobbing, or whimpering, or gasping for breath like one does when the pain so consumes them that they become overwhelmed and the emotions can not help but to come bursting out. No; Neji’s tears were different. They were silent; like him. They were furious, but at the same time, they were seeped in a feeling of hopelessness and longing.

i trying to write a shikamaru love story with a made up character, but its really hared to write about him. even though it should be easy, because, well, hes lazy. grrr, but its not. so i keep restarting.

OCs are a bit of a challenge over all... you have to make them likable, but not Sue-ish... they have to be flawed, which is sometimes difficult to do...
Shikamaru, actually presents a rather difficult character. First, let me just say, if he was just lazy, it would VERY difficult to write him... because a one-dimensional character always is... but Shikamaru ISN'T one-dimensional... in fact, in the whole Naruto-verse, Shikamaru is probably the single most multi-layered character there is... everyone sees him as simple... Lazy. Genius. But he's so much more than that...
one of the tricks to good writing, is the ability to look beyond the surface and see the deeper meaning behind the subtle things...you have to get into their mind and become your character...
for Shika... he's lazy, yes... but he's also smart, uninterested (borderline apathetic), extremely loyal (thought it's not apparent from the start, but he really is), he's very kind hearted and caring, believes in helping (even if he does make a huge fuss over it), he likes to win (but he's not a sore loser either), and he's got a really strong sense of justice... the thing about him, though... is he doesn't show any of this... he's very good at downplaying all his strengths... including his intelligence, until it's too obvious that he can't hide it...
believe it or not, everything i said, isn't OOC or fanfic created... it's actually cannon... and there's still a lot more to him then just that (that's just all i could come up with at the moment)...

wow. thats a lot on the spot. and thats why i like shikamaru a lot. because in all the confusion that he is; he's so simple. its over whelming.

well, don't explain... in the first place you shouldn't the "telling/explaining" anything to the reader.. you need to SHOW... description... which can be in bits and pieces throughout the story...
