Not sure if a stamp like this already been made.
I know some people are probably sick of people like me making these "I am Religious and I like....." stamps.
Anyways, I am Christian and I read, watch, and have some Harry Potter stuff. I hate the fact that people had to bicker about the damn thing cause of the damn witchcraft and wizardry stuff in it. For crying out loud it's a fantasy movie. I bet half these people that bicker about the magic in Harry Potter have seen a movie at least once in their lives that has magic in it. It is called FANTASY and FICTION people. Not like I am gonna go out and pick up a stick and call it my magic wand and do withcraft with it.
Sheesh, some people with stuff like this. I wish they get over it. I mean their was even a controversy on damn Yu-Gi-Oh. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET OVER THIS "HOMG THAT HAS MAGIC IT IS AGAINST MY RELIGION IF YOU WATCH U GOES TO HELL" crap.
Again, it is fantasy, it is adventure, it is imagination, it is FICTION.
You may use this stamp in your journal. Just copy the thumb code to the right. Must have a subscritiopn.
NO FLAMING IF YOU DISAGREE PLEASE.
Rookie-101 is my old account I am leaving shortly. I am resubmitting this stamp here.

I didn't know that about why J.K. left our religion! But people need to realize the books like HP is fiction.

I agree, I'm Christian and I love reading Harry Potter and so many other books with magic, witches and wizards, dragons, etc. I just get sick of people saying that this book will send you to hell and whatnot. It's fantasy, people, fiction ment to be enjoyed as a BOOK, not a worship manual.

oY vey, yeah. I've heard the stuff about it and for awhile wasn't allowed near it but then my parents changed their minds, just not wanting me to get obsessed with it.
But yeah but it seems like most books that have fantasy amidst a realistic world promoting witchcraft or something lately. I'm working on a novel that includes people with powers and I plan on having a disclaimer in the front that basically says
"This story is set in a fictional world where some people are born with unusual abilities. It is not because witchcraft or anything it is FICTION"
one time I've seen people take a quote made by the villain and were like "it said so and so that's wrong it's promoting false values"
I almost literally facepalmed at that. Come ON people, consider the source here! it's the VILLAIN , villains are bad guys and thus they will say horrible mixed up statements to try and mess with the hero. That's why they're BAD guys, they do and say BAD things.

Gosh people actually did that with villains? I want to facepalm now. They are villains for a reason. No bad guy will skip and play hopscotch and sing 'Skippy to my lou darling' and donate to charities and be an outstanding citizen. They are going to do the exact opposite.

Cool! I'm religious too and I like Harry Potter.
Can you do one of these for the Golden Compass? The vatican tried to boycott that movie because they feel it threatens their way of life, what with the peoples souls being animals living outside their bodies and called 'daemons', and that the angel in the last book is supposedly 'God' and is the bad guy. I look at him more as the anti-christ, personally. Because of this, I don't think they're making the sequels for the big screen.

I agree with you. I attend church regularly and i have been redeemed by christ.
For goodness sake: Its a BOOK. a BOOK. You will not go to hell for reading a BOOK. Its not like Harry goes off to search for the devil or something. And besides, good overcomes evil. Its not like i'll go and grab a stick and call it my wand and leave God and practice witchcraft. Yeah, sure, i say qoutes form the book sometimes, sure I have t-shirts, sure I have posters, but its just entertainment. FICTION. D=

Yeah I can't stand it when people go ape shit over any sort of magic in any fiction book. It's just a book. It's written for entertainment and at least it got some people interested in reading.

I never did really get a chance to read or watch the Harry Potter series when I was young. My mother didn't really want me to watch it because she told me it had witch craft in it and was afraid that I would think I could do magic too (When I was young, I wanted to be a magician, I never knew anything about witchcraft, black magic and stuff). When I got older, she realized that I never really think that way and that Harry Potter probably wasn't bad and preventing me from watching it probably restrained my freedom. (And she kinda feels bad for it now, although I told her it was okay). Anyway, I do support this stamp, but I do kinda wish I got a chance to see the movie.

Thanks! I do have the chance now, but because I feel so behind, my interest had decreased significantly throughout the years. Maybe it'll build back up when the movie comes out and if a new book comes out too. But I kinda wish I saw it sooner, so I'd actually have an idea pn what goes on in it like everyone else...

It's sad that there was even an uprising about it. I saw an Evangelist Hell House commercial one day that mentioned something about going to hell if you read Harry Potter.
Practicing witchcraft is one thing, reading about it in FICTION is another, and you should be grown up enough to understand the difference between real life and fiction.

You know, I used to WORSHIP Harry Potter until I became Christian. The thing is; it says DIRECTLY in the Bible that you should STAY AWAY FROM WITCHCRAFT. We can't be sure what that applies to. I'm not meaning to flame you, so please do not get offended. I'm just pointing out that it could mean stay away from movies, books, real stuff, made-up stuff.... We can't take chances.
And just to make sure you're a REAL Christian, I need you to answer this; Have you been redeemed by Christ?

That is how my aunt is. I feel differently though. HP is just a movie and a fictional one at that. I don't hear people saying stay away fro wizard of oz and that to has some witchcraft and magic in it. But that is me. Back then when the Bible was made, there was no movies and such. I am sure when people done witchcraft it was the real deal.
Redeemed like is saved? I am working on that again. I have a friend that is helping me seek Jesus again. Things have happened and I been doubtful lately.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Most people don't say much about Wizard of Oz.... But they probably should. And as for the thing with "when the Bible was made there were no movies"... I think the Lord will know what will happen in the future of the planet he has created. Ever read the Revelations? It talks about Jesus Christ, and the Rapture of the Church. Our God knows. Plus, HP is very dangerous, I believe. Like I said, I used to worship it. And actually, I also tried to be a witch as well. (BefORE Christianity.)
Really? Good luck building your relationship back up with our Savior.

I had some parts of Revelations explained to me, but for the most part it confused me. And yes you are right, I didn't take into consideration that God knows everything even the future so thanks for reminding me.
And thanks! But instead of luck I need prayer ^^

I am a very religious person, I firmly believe in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, I attend church regularly -- and I enjoy Harry Potter. I'm not a fanatic like some people, but I do like it. J.K. Rowling's certainly got style, even though I feel she lays it on a bit thick with the deaths and all.
What is it with all these religious fanatics, proclaiming that Harry Potter promotes witchcraft and satanism? For Pete's sakes, it's fiction! It's not to be taken seriously. It's just a story, for pure entertainment purposes. Goodness me...

Hmmm. Actually, it SAYS in the Bible to stay away from all Witchcraft. I used to worship HP until I became Christian. I do NOT watch Eragon, HP, OR Lord of the Rings. But just pointing out, (not meaning to be rude) that it may mean stay away from Witchcraft PERIOD. It didn't say magic. It sais witchcraft. Meaning when humans perform magic. We can't be sure what all the bible means, so it could mean stay away from books, movies, real stuff, fake stuff.... You know. I just told this politely to the artist, please do not take this as an offense.
