Description Qoute: J.W. Eagan

How many people know some people that dislike a book cause some people had to make a bad movie of it? To be truthful, I haven't. Though with so many bad movies that were based on the books I can't say that there aren't any that would do this ^^

Rookie-101 was my old account. I resubmitted and edited the stamp here.

So true there are wayy too many movies that aren't at all like the book.

The same goes for anime/manga

So very true! Thank you for making this stamp.

I recently made references from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on a forum, only to be responded to by someone with "Why are you refereincing a mediocre film?" My response was something to the extent of "It was a really awesome book series before it was a mediocre film."

I actually never met anyone like that either, on the contrary, a lot of people have the misconception that movie adaptations of good, or at least popular, books are inherently bad, which is the case most of the time, at least nowadays.

Now what I've yet to hear about is a good movie based on a bad book, but I bet there are a handful of those.

Have you ever read/seen The Man in the Iron Mask? I thought the book was really pointless and depressing but I liked the movie.

Nope, I never got to read the book. The movie was Ok.

I still find movies that surpass the book they're based on very uncommon.

Nice stamp . . . thanks! Prince Caspian comes to mind, and one of the worst I ever saw was the movie of Tom Wolfe's 'Bonfire of the Vanities' Great book, awful flick.

So true! The best example I can think for this is Eragon. I love, love, love the book, it's fantastic! But the movie was shite.

Agreed. I read the book long before the movie came out and was actually really excited about the movie - until I watched it. Seriously, it made me want to tear my hair off in disgust. If I had watched the movie first, I wouldn't even wanna look at the book without expecting my eyes to combust spontaneously.
