This is me tonight at the Hawaiian Entertainment Expo. Mech suits are NOT Hawaiian weather friendly. I think I lost about 12 lbs in sweat. Oh and a shout out to my buddy Christian in the pic

Pffft, silliness. Some of the best cosplays I've seen were made out of cardboard m'dear an thats about as cheap as you can get.

Sorry, had to add that as I got accused of being an art thief not too long ago because I showed other pictures to someone just to use as reference material for their costume. Whew, anyways, as you can see, cardboard is always a possibility. Just take into consideration that they are not waterproof and might need some form of reinforcement.

Well, my head doesn't hurt but my feet kinda do. Ratchet's wheel feet are not super walking around, jumping, dancing, Gagnam style, friendly.

I honestly have no idea. I know I got interviewed by 2 radio stations and 1 lady doing a documentary on cosplay. A lot of people had phones, cameras, etc so it is possible it made it onto youtube somewhere.

Looks great from a distance and the camera hides a lot. Ratchet is not nearly as cleanly put together as he appears. I am still learning and with that maybe, MAYBE, in the future I might consider taking a commission or two.

Ummm....sometime after I got back from my deployment so started maybe in the spring? My worklog on [link] was initiated in May but I know I started before I posted the log. I'm thinking Feb/March.

Not bad. So you used that computer program to make a printable Ratchet, in a sense. Then you used fiberglass and bondo over the paper? That's absolutely amazing! Most of the cosplayers use sheets of insulating foam cut to form.
What software did you use to make the 3D image of Ratchet?

Only used fiberglass on the helmet; the rest was foam. I did not make the 3D image; I hired a friend to make it. I did however use Pepakura Designer 3 to alter the image into the "puzzle pieces" needed for re-assembly.
