Description
Bryce 7.1Already mentioned planet Kai in some previous works. In its Southern hemisphere, this strange but familiar construction-device is located in the Plain of Clouds, a very desolate but purposeful place. And this one certainly works!
This was inspiredΒ by from Time ago, told him I wanted to do something of the sort and hope this one is half as appealing as his.
It was a nightmare of a positioning exercise, but also a revenge against MB3D's V-Lights. So relatively easy and precise on Bryce!
Though simple at first glance, full size view recommended.

Thanks Sed! I'll be doing an offspring sometime. Different angle and overall idea. The corridor before the octagon is quite longer...

Interesting locale and the positioning of the lampposts (?) looks spot on. My eye is thrown by the brighter blue being further distant - optically I want to shift them to the foreground...
Like the V-lights which are a headache in MB3D for me - like the effect and hate the effort

Thank you very much for your comment!Β Not sure if I understood the brighter blue matter correctly. Did you mean the atmospheric effect? Besides being a positioning nightmare (1st time I use the straight view from above camera in Bryce to such an extent), it was also a lighting one. Made countless modifications and pre-renders before deciding on this best compromise. Nothing seemed to look good, and working with a camera angle that is not Bryce's normal view camera, interestingly alters a few unexpected things.
If I ever lay my hands on MB3D again, no V-Lights unless I get instant cooperation!

Your piece was well executed ( no, not the atmospheric but the elements)- on second thought perhaps the reflections could have been fractionally lessΒ "crystal perfect" - never mind!!Β It was an optical tug-of-war which maybe mine alone.

It's Kaihenge after all, everything's crystal perfect! Guess I understand what you are trying to say. The reflections were done this way on purpose as the lighting projected very defined shadows. Softening them can perfectly be done, but render time would have had this nasty tendency to soar

Thank you very much! Though a lot of time passed, you might remember some talks we had about object positioning issues. It was fair to mention the fine work that inspired this one.
