A little taste of your own medicine never hurt... right?So. I know exactly how many more pages RTI has in its story. Want to know? It's less than eight. If you can see by the fact that I'm beating Parthus up quite extensively, I'm trying to bring this party to a conclusion.
No, there's not a teapot on this page. I made up for that by giving you lots of mirrors. Are you too insecure for mirrors? Maybe later on I'll put something a little less revealing in the story.
What am I talking about? I don't know. I'm out.

Well come on, then. Let's open that door. You know, the one we're not supposed to open. Clearly it's destined to be opened.
Is Parthus's subconscious a subconscious squared? I have to say, the subconscious squared is sounding a little whiny. Second chances are a privilege, not a right, and insisting that everything will always turn out the same is not a good way to campaign for one.

I think this may be a deception.
Rainbow Dash has no power over Parthus, unless Parthus gave her that power wittingly or otherwise. Only Luna has shown the skill to directly counter such a metaphysical being.
With his emotions returned (and the meaningful experiences of the memories connected by them) it seems likely that Parthus would engineer his own destruction to satisfy the demands of his personal guilt and sympathetic grief.
As evidence, notice the perversion of the quote "If you love something set it free." into ""If you love something destroy (speech bubble cutoff by panel)", clearly referring to parthus own "love" for himself, as understood and spoken by Parthus's "Reflection of Loathing" (the other one with the darker speech bubble is probably the "Reflection of Spite"), and probably indicating Parthus's execution of some self-enacted prophecy of self-destruction.
The real question is: will Luna see through the allegory and illusion correctly enough to determine if any possible solution exists that resolves her dilemma?
The other question is: Is Rainbow Dash consciously involved in this activity, or is this "trial and execution" merely some subconscious facet of Rainbow Dash given nightmarish strength by the influence of Parthus's self-destructive will?

It's a subconscious thing. More so Luna's mind making her own projections of them. Being torn between saving one or the other.

So, Dash' subconscius is taking control. And she is really pissed off (she is totally in her right to be so)
I can understand why Luna is trying to save Parthus, but Dash is right: he had his opportunity, and he wasted it. Minor mistakes can be forgiven, but torture and murder... And not only to Dash, but to all the ponies who came before her. I have the feeling that part of all this punishment not comes only from Dash, but from Parthus himself. With his emotions returned, he doesn't seem very proud of what he has done.
And thats what the witnesses were for in the previous page: the trial. Quite interesting.

I don´t hate Parthus. He has so much fear and self-loathing that I can only pity him, and killing him now he has recovered his emotions will not make Luna nor Dash better than him, but it´s true he has wasted all the oportunities Luna gave him; it´s too late, ant he is being judged by an angry pony he tortured and nearly killed (not to mention the two murder attempts against Pinkie and Twilight). Maybe he was not entirely responsible of what he did before Luna make him feel real emotions; he was just a parasite and only did what his nature told him (you can´t blame a virus for being a virus). But after that, he had the opportunity of become something better, and he rejected it. That is his responsability, and must answer to it.
