YEah- the wrought iron is amazing stuff.  Sadly- I need to re-etch the whole thing, as it got a bad rust streak on it....

No, it's fine- but now I need to re-etch the whole thing, and that is a pain in the ... bottom...  on a hilted knife~

Thank you!  It is a wonderful blade that I was able to finish.  There will be many more from that smith as soon as I can get back to work in the shop!

Thank you!  The blade pre-ground and hardened/tempered was made by narlyknives.deviantart.com/ . I did the final grinds and shape as well as the hardening and handle work, and well-eventually the sheath, too.  KK does amazing forge-welded blades, and I'm privileged to be able to have him as a resource for great works!  I'll have several more Viking blades from him going up in the next few weeks, too.

Ooo I have always had a soft stop for Viking blades . . . -_-; that was a very bad joke *facepalm*. You think you will be doing any shields along with them?

Well, I did the one on my page, which was a fast and dirty plywood mostly for costuming reasone.  I mean, it's a great sheild, but not right.  Too heavy and thick at the edges~  

But yes, although to be of the proper size for me- it'll be 39-42" in diameter...  I have the lumber drying in the shop, and I'll break out the hide glue one of these days~

And we ALL have soft spots for blades- viking or no!
