Description
Left 4 Dead 2 - The Spitter WIPMy second humanoid clay figurine. Im not going to be able to work on her for a while, so I decided to post what Ive done so far. She was supposed to be done a week ago, but Im not going to hurry.
Taking step by step I sculpted her starting from her feet and legs, up to her stomach, torso and arms. Neck and head come last, since those are the hardest parts to sculpt.
Unfortunately there arent many pictures of the Spitter (L4D2 version) so I had little reference to work with, ultimately resulting in me claiming a bit of artistic freedom.
Im likely to post a "making of" as soon as Im done sculpting and painting.

Hey, and thanks for your comment
I personally started with Sculpey Original, but you don't get as much detail worked into it. If you're a total beginner, its worth your while though, - its cheap, and easy to use.
Experiment: After Sculpey Original I used ultra light, which, sadly, didn't work too well for me (the tiger figurine in my gallery was made out of sculpey ultra light).
Finally, I found Super Sculpey and Sculpey Firm.
They're the best ones Ive used so far, and its up to you which one you choose.
Ill be making a sculpture tutorial later on, but if you're in a hurry, Id like to throw a few tips your way (the fruits of my trials and errors):
Always use a wire armature. Ive gone through the stages of burning pieces bit by bit (check the orc statue) but that doesnt work too well. Once sculpey is baked its pretty hard to attach anything to it.
Also, these tools are really worth grabbing: Turpentine and Liquid Sculpey.
Ill get into depth with sculpting with the upcoming tutorial.
Hope this helps!
