Does nailpolish remover stuff/aceton work too? Or is that too strong?

Nailpolish remover (with alcohol in it) should do the trick. I have not tried this out myself, but in theory it should work. And no, you don't have to worry about it being too strong.

Question: Does it have to be turpentine, or will any paint thinner do?

Anything that is slightly corrosive, but I'm going to have to say I've only used turpentine and airbrush paint thinner.

All I hear when I see this beautiful tutorial is vomiting and bad piano music. Please don't take it offensively.
But seriously, thanks so much.

What type of sculpting medium do you use?
(clay, polymer clay, etc. etc.)

Super Sculpey for clay, sometimes Sculpey Firm.
I use foil to bulk the thickest parts up, and wire for durability. Check out my Sculpting Tutorial for more detailed instructions!

Hes already painted, I have a few touch ups I need to work with on the base, but other than that, hes pretty much finished.
Lets say... I think I succeeded in captivating the essense of his boils very nicely.
