yes, it looks hard, but it's actually a fun work to make a coin. Price is depends on the foundry's pricing and the value of metal, I'm taking my works to a foundry that's specialized on artworks and statues, so making a coin is a bit expensive field of art.

You know, there is a little trick to avoid bubbles. you need to gently tap/knock on the mold while you are pouring in the mix for the negative mold. you just need to do that for 5 minutes or so

Thank you, I tried that, both the gentle and harder ways of tapping till the plaster hardened, but bubbles love getting stuck in the carves of the text

This is fantastic! Y'know, I've been wanting to produce a couple of custom Power Ranger coins for my old toy Power Morpher. I might try this method... but the hard part would be getting the edges and connection point t work, y'know?

Azóta viszont teljesen elfelejtettem hogyan sikerült megoldani a buborék problémát, annak idején is azzal szívtam sokat, hogy a figurák öntése sikerült, a szöveg viszont teljesen ratyi lett. Szerencsére Kain elsőre sikerült
Hehehe a hasznos intó mellett a természetes hülyeség is utat talált magának ebben a tutorialban

This is just WOOOW! Thank you, it's really interesting to see how you work (nice fingernails btw). Also your writing stile is great, you make a perfect teacher! And i didn't expect the coins to be so big, thay're more like medalions? I have some experience with similar work (dental technician`s work) so i have a few questions. This plastiline for sculpting is NOT clay, right? Obviously this is a stupid question, but just to make sure, because i haven't heard of it before. And then- you use soap foam for the insulating coating. Doesn't it work with the stuff that is made especially for this( i forgot the names- there's an oily pink fluid and another thing that's called waterglass or something), because it doesn't take so long to do it? Or is there a specific reason to use the soap( maybe the other stuff blocks the little details, i don't know)?

Thank you!
Perhaps medallion is a beter word on them, here we call both the currency coins and the medallions "coins" I was not sure which is the best definition on them in english.
But a lot of people thinks they're tiny coins like real currency, but that'd require copper etching technique.
Your work is very similar, only the size is different
Yes, plastiline is not clay, it won't dry on air, and remains the same soft material. Also not the same as the plasticine kids using at school, that stuff is oily, and gets hard on air.
I heard of the pink fluid stuff too, but never used it. All that's important about the coating layer is to make it as thin as possible because of the details. I didn't even made the positive cast in plaster for the smaller commissioned coin, simply stuffed modelling clay into the negative, but it won't work with a big coin, clay loves deforming when peeled off the negative cast.
I also heard some people making their casts with special plastic, but that's not worthy to buy for only one coin work.
