Description
This is a special present for my cousin whom I called her "Sis". This present contains most if not all of her favorite characters ranging from childhood (Lenne and Yuna from FFX and FFX-2, her all time favorite) to the current.Made this pic with my craptastic laptop! You have no idea how much pain in the ass it takes to make this god like pic without my lovely desktop D:
Originally, I was going to equip Trish with her weapons, but unfortunately I have to scrap this idea because the weapon pack from DMC4 is no longer there and the ArmachamCorp's work is locked down with possibly broken link though thankfully they are fixing it.
The match between Tifa and Juri is also inspired heavily by my all time favorite anime show, and the ONLY Shonen Jump related series I actually liked, Hokuto No Ken AKA Fist Of The North Star:

Thanks, toon devil!
For some reason, I have contribute this to nearly 30 or so group Nd yet I barely get any more faves or comment other than yourself since then.

Yeah, I do the same thing myself. I'll submit something to multiple groups and I still get very little faves. But then again, I never joined DA to get popular. I'm just glad friends like my work. ^^

Good to hear. Well this may apply to me eventually as attempting to get popular won't do me any good. I only want to get popular, however, is to show off my own style of creativity in certain way like making something most people has never been done.
It seems the only way to get popular is to show off pic depicting women in cliche theme like bikini, showing off whether she is either complete or near naked.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-07-31 00:19:52 +0000 UTC]
That's the quick way to get popular. But I rather depict the characters is more respectable ways. I may try something a little sexy, having Chun in a bikini or something of the sort, but most of the time I tend to draw more action or something creative in my work.
In the end, I just draw for myself, or my friends. I could care less if my work is not popular, I just enjoy the fun of showing off my creativity. ^^

Sgtsoupie In reply to TheToonDevil [2013-08-01 04:36:01 +0000 UTC]
Indeed. Such a shame a creative work would get overshadow by a cliche amount of pic featuring women in stereotypical way.

It may sound off topic a bit, but have you seen someone who gets pissed off easily if someone he likes to use her as pornography gets a bad portrayal:

I just read the comments. I know I tend to make corrections at times to artists, but he kind of takes it to the extreme. I've been on DA and found some people label Chun-li Cammy for some reason. I simply tell them that her name is Chun-Li not Cammy, but I don't go postal on them about it.
And I know there are deviants who portray characters in ways we may not like, so I just try to ignore them as best I could.
But in the most part, I never knew anyone quite like this person. Seems a bit too dramatic over a art label. Naming is one of the hardest things to come up with, he could have simply just gave him a suggestion rather then acting like a lunatic.

Sgtsoupie In reply to TheToonDevil [2013-08-05 04:50:45 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. That is another which the cliche theme of portraying women with feminine stereotype can be taken too extreme. That is one of the reason why I like her sfiv appearance minus the big hand which you can easily blame Daigo for this.
I may plan of taking a risk project regarding the portrayal of Felicia in order to combat the over glorified of one character and claimed by her fan to be infinitely superior regardless ( as though the Japanese sub dominate all other dub even if it will eventually decline due to sheer standard and the tone of voice and accent are the first to prioritize over skills and talent and more importantly creativity)

I was looking at some past images of Chun-li, and a few manga, they still gave Chun-li big hands, lol.
I was asked once why Chun-li looked the way she did in Street Fighter. The girl who asked me this found it odd Chun-li looked so buff in her games. I always figured Street Fighter always over exaggerated their characters for this game. In SFII, you had all these guys who looked like body builders.
When Chun-li was added, she needed to feel as though she can be just as strong as guys. Which is why her body looks pretty beefy. Her thighs were exaggerated more since CAPCOM felt it fit the character more. Having a girl with upper body strength probably didn't sound very appealing at the time (yet years later Alpha came out and Chun had arm muscles.).
It made for an interesting topic. I considered using this as one of the Chun-Chat questions, as it was a very good one.

Oh yes. I never expected people to hate sf4 art style with little to no mention of the previous game when they also have the exaggerated and bulk up artwork characters in some games in the first place. Even akiman work has that as well as sfII anime movie which for some reason they never complain. If you bought the 20th anniversary artbook
π: 0 β©: 1
TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-08-06 05:45:50 +0000 UTC]
What was odd, in some of the earlier art books the characters weren't as exaggerated (minus Zangief). But in the game they were always exaggerated. But in the film they looked at least a bit more realistic. But I still like the looks of the characters. And it makes sense they would get these kind of bodies from their training, even if some look inhumanly possible (Zangief).
π: 0 β©: 1
Sgtsoupie In reply to TheToonDevil [2013-08-07 21:48:35 +0000 UTC]
Indeed. And for some reason, the way they look exaggerated and is considered a horse shit by many people are possibly inspired by fist of the North Star. The way they look, the move they pull off etc.

TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-08-07 21:57:58 +0000 UTC]
Well look at a lot of the anime or even comic books. The characters who are known to fight are often super macho. So it makes sense why the creator would go this route. It gives the character a sense of power, and feel like they can beat almost anything.

Sgtsoupie In reply to TheToonDevil [2013-08-08 22:45:36 +0000 UTC]
Indeed, I agree. Too bad many people prefer stereotype normal one as opposed to something different.

Have you find it odd that most of the moves and characters in some fighting game series were inspired by Fist Of The North Star other than the obvious series like Dragon Ball and Naruto, including both known and not so known martial art films.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-08-09 18:09:45 +0000 UTC]
True. Kenshiro's fighting style has been mimicked in many anime, not just the few you mentioned. But I think it's more of a tribute for what the show has created. DBZ probably wouldn't have been as popular if it wasn't for Kenshiro. Even todays anime pay respects to Kenshiro one way or another.
I'm still waiting to see a character in a fighting game who fights nearly like Kenshiro, but at the moment I can only compare Gen to Ken (since he's the only pressure point fighter).

I hope they made a guest character despite being very vague in ultra street fighter IV including what I said in the private note, starring Kenshiro.what would imagine of Kenshiro interacting many street fighter characters? Ranging from speaking to chun to facing the likes of evil such as M Bison, a forgotten son of Kaioh.

TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-08-10 05:05:30 +0000 UTC]
Maybe not a reference, but I would assume Ken wouldn't like Bison in general. his brother Raoh was cruel, but atleast he had a purpose for being so. Bison was just evil for no reason actually. That's what I hate about most villains, no back story at all.

Well, with Internet you can read at any times since there is no point collecting mangas as the current one stop publishing more English translated one.
Especially when there's handful yet good amount of free fist of the North Star movie.

*After celebrating a great birthday thanks to Soupie*
ah, what a great day. I am glad someone like Soupie inviting me without sex and beauty discrimination issue unlike others. Be honest which one or two person do you like going out with?
A. Ryu and/ or spider man
Or
B. Fei Long and/ or kenshiro from fist of the North Star. Both are bruce lee tribute characters
π: 0 β©: 1
TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-08-19 00:54:05 +0000 UTC]
Well, I don't bother with other peoples opinions. That's the thing with being popular, you don't only have your fans, but you are bound to have your haters as well. And to answer your question, inconclusive with some, not at all with others.
Ryu is a nice guy, but I find it difficult for anyone to get to know the guy. Always being on the move, I think I'd like someone more stable.
Spiderman, he's a bit odd with his wisecracks but he's rather childish, and I think he's already seeing someone.
Fei-Long...hm, he does have a great career...(not to mention he looks exactly like an old idol of mine)...opps, sorry! Haha!
Kenshiro? From the description you have on your page, he seems like a really nice man. Wondering the wastelands to aid others in need. Not to mention I do love his fighting style. Kind of reminds me of Master Gen a bit though.

A tournament? I don't recall going to anything like that recently. What kind of tournament is it?

Here is what it is about, currently in the finale where the match has been fixed:

Hmm. He seems rather kind hearted for a big guy, kind of reminds me a little of Abel. I guess I can give him a shot. But I hope I don't over step my bounds cause of his last lover.
Hmm, this seems more like a popularity contest then a fight. How can it be considered a battle if there isn't really any fighting going on? Though it's pretty nice to see how far up I gone on the list here. But I find the death part rather sad. I wouldn't kill anyone for something like this. *giggles*

Soupie: you should. But just so you know, you may have some disagreement as the relationship goes on since he is a mass murderer besides being the savior, to those who commit a crime that is. Not to mention, there are time he can be cold hearted when it comes to hostage though not as extreme as the otherSo you may have to anticipate it:

Soupie: well since he is from the world that has been in eternal hell since the nuclear war, you may eventually understand why he has go through it, he is not like someone who decide to kill people and do misdeed in his own will such M bison. Maybe you can learn from him in case you will be forced to kill someone, even your friend, at some point.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-09-03 17:57:50 +0000 UTC]
How can you think like that? Even if they are causing a big enough problem, I never killed. I managed to stop Bison after the last Street Fighter tournament, but never killed him (though...probably didn't help that Akuma finished him off).
π: 0 β©: 1
Sgtsoupie In reply to TheToonDevil [2013-09-06 21:32:45 +0000 UTC]
Soupie: sorry. I thought you might changed a bit after over 20 years since your debut.
Guess the same applies to juri. Kenshiro have to kill his brother Jagi for committing a serious crime after regrettably letting him live before which is the reason why I thought you can learn from him when it comes to the last resort by killing, not that he can train you to blow people head off.
Speaking of the finale, what is your thought on the death battle which include you being burned alive in the video during the match against mai judged by two persons.
m.youtube.com/watch?v=kGHwjnvcβ¦
Especially of people making either a pointless argument over one video whether it is biased or so and making suggestion which never came to be true.

TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-09-09 19:35:52 +0000 UTC]
I think we spoke about this topic before didn't we? Well, like that poll you mentioned before, I don't pay much attention to these kind of things. But I find the video rather gruesome. I know everyone has their own opinions, but I find stuff like this going a bit far.

Soupie: okay, I'll avoid that subject. Again I apologize.
So overall, you want give kenshiro a try despite a difference?
Perhaps this is not the good way to ask. Say have ask guile about his father because there is no mention of him? All I guess is, though merely interpretation, is the man named falco the gento koken user is the father of him for several key reasons:

You know what, Guile mentions very little of his father. He spoke to me once about him, but not much after that. I think Guile just tends to have other things going on in his mind. But these people you mention seem to look like Guile. I doubt they maybe his father, but I wouldn't be surprised if Guile was influenced by these guys. *giggles*

Maybe I made a not so good choice of discussing about guile's lost father. It is like saying your lost mother is yuria m.youtube.com/watch?v=xcIoJGQ1β¦ causing to make kenshiro your father which may or not explain why you are so strong with lightning kicks ehich originated from him:

Soupieut it doesn't mean you're inspired by this woman since my theory is basically vague anyway.
That makes me wonder if you can learn to use Hokuto Shinken though I can imagine how scary you can be when using it, especially unintentionally killed M Bison.

TheToonDevil In reply to Sgtsoupie [2013-10-03 22:06:52 +0000 UTC]
Well, I don't really watch a lot of cartoons, so I probably don't know this show very much. But I do find strong women to be very inspirable. Hopefully I can inspire others, especially my children.
Well I can probably punch a bit faster if I didn't wear my bracelets. But the last thing I'd want to do is kill someone. You seen rather fixated on me being a killing machine aren't you? *giggles*
