The first time I heard this song I thought it was a love song.Still do.
Okay so I get what it's actually "supposed" to be but it really can be taken either way. The love song makes it so much sadder in the end, though, because they still have to end up trying to kill each other. D:

One of my favourite Megas songs. The title's gun-slinging reference and the steely, you-or-me tone does me in every time. There's just something inherently awesome about Megaman + Spaghetti Westerns.
Blue Like You is a more obvious love song, but I always thought that in Quick and the Blue, Quick had respect for Megaman and his ideology which flies in the face of Quick's programming. Out of all the "on your side" Megas songs, I think Quick handles it the coolest.

Blue Like You always struck me as a bit too creepy to be a "love" song. XD But I do know what you mean. I know The Quick and the Blue isn't really supposed to be a love song, but like you said, there's a respect there, and the way the whole thing unfolded in my head... Well, I've been planning a little series of music videos for the CD (once I actually learn to manipulate Flash), so you'll see what I mean much better than I can explain it I bet, in time.
And yeah, this one's by far my favorite of the Megas' songs. Which is funny, because I really hated it the first time I heard it. Ironically, my second-favorite is Metal Dance, despite Metalman being my least favorite character...

There's many kinds of "love" in this world. Flash's just happens to be a skeevy, obsessive paedo love. XD Thanks to the Megas and Megamix, to me, Flash will always be the easily depressed and creepy perv while Quick is the protective, honorable one. Ha...sorry, Flash...
My favourite is actually The Annihilation of Monsteropolis; I think it's their strongest song lyrically and vocally. But Metal Dance is my second fav. Partially because Metalman's Captain Obviousness is through the roof in that one. lol

AoM... I don't know what it is, but the lyrics never hit me seriously enough. They just sound silly to the ear. Which is weird, because anywhere else they'd be really deep. But the first time I heard it I was nearly in tears... of laughter. ._. *is a bad person* I mean they are really good lyrics but I don't know, I think it may be the guy's voice, or maybe it's just the way Airman's theme sounds... In my head I can make it serious, and when I do it's awesome, but the first response is always... No, it's the epic speech. That's what it is. But the end of the song is really good, even when I first heard it I thought it sounded cool.
And yes, I know there are many kinds of love. XDD;; I phrased my last poorly; what I meant was, it's really creepy and obsessive, as opposed to "love" in the warm sense of necessity. It's more like an overwhelming, obsessive desire than a sense of need. Any affection he feels is skewed and perverted, poor Flash. XDD;;
I always see Flash as loving, but incapable of attaching on the right levels. He'd need somebody whose first reaction is to just smash through whatever walls Flash himself would put up and not be pushed back by Flash's reactions to such behavior. But that's just my rambling.

Well, by lyrical strength I mean it has less rhythm problems and awkward imagery than their other songs. The only real bad line is "You better watch out guy." ...The thunder chariot is also kinda corny. Well, the fact Airman also has a giant fan for a mouth doesn't help. XD
I think all the robot masters are a little like that. It's a whole family of tsunderes!

It feels like they're trying too hard, but it pretty much always feels like that with the Megas. But that's why I like them; it's kind of endearing. XDD Woodman's probably has the strangest lyrics, and yet for some reason they seem some of the most fitting, too...

I was listening to The Megas earlier. I think I'm going to try listening to it as a love song next time, too. I was always just amused by the 'spagetti western' sound it had, but it could be awesome as a serious song, too. <3

I have a hard time taking the Megas seriously, but this is one of the few that I can accept without much effort. (I still love them, even if they are silly.)
