An idea I had many many years ago, but never got around to finishing. I found the old sketch while looking through some things and immediately knew had to have another go at it. So, I redrew my first idea and added some things that weren't there originally. For example, James and Meowth were not present in my first sketch, neither was the close-up of the photograph Jessie is holding.If you haven't listened to or even heard of 'The Birth of Mewtwo' CD Drama, then this drawing might be a little confusing, as the photograph is a reference from that, as it was what Miyamoto (Musashi/Jessie's mother) would carry around with her, until it got swept away in a big gust of wind during her mission to find Mew.
I think this idea works for whether you believe Jessie actually knew her mother and remembers her, or if you think she never knew her at all and was so young that she doesn't remember Miyamoto. Whatever you think is true, it would still be quite a shock to find an old photo of yourself in a place you've never been to before.
And who knows? Maybe seeing that would bring back some past memories that Jessie might have buried deeply into the back of her mind.
Also, in case anyone doesn't know, the Japanese on the back says Musashi (Jessie's Japanese name). I could've made it say 'Jessie' but I like the Japanese, and besides that is it's original source. ^_^
Oh, and I could resist more unnecessary touching, he he he. Gotta have some Rocketshipping in there somewhere.

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that question, that's just the photo that Musashi's mother always carried around with her. It might've been the only one anyone could take at the time.

I am lucky! I'm so glad that I bought those CDs all those years ago. I imagine they might be hard to find nowadays or very expensive.

I always say this, but it is down to much practising. I first started drawing these characters more than 10 years ago (a long time, I know).
Also, it's down to learning how to use tools properly. I was terrible when I first started trying to draw digital art because I had no idea what I was doing. I really thought that I'd never get the hang of it, but actually, even though it was a slow process, I started picking it up bit by bit.
And I used to mostly copy pictures exactly. I'd say that's a good way of improving, by trying to make your drawing as much like a picture as possible. If you can get that right then you should be able to move onto making up your own stuff. I now find it a lot easier to create my own scenes, poses, facial expressions, etc.

Yeah, I copy pics in pencil. I look at them on the PC screen and copy them. I've drawn Dialga that way.

What a wonderfully evocative mood! It looks like it could be a still from a movie (if only TR would get their own movie!) or from promotional art for a CD Drama!
And I love their winter clothes, especially Meowth's scaled-down version. Very cute, even amidst the dramatic scene!

Quite possible, but I only really remember her older fanfics in detail, the later ones are harder to recall, so maybe it reminds you of something from one of the later ones because I can't think of anything.

That's how I started out, when drawing the characters I liked, I would get a picture of them as a reference and end up copy it to the best of my abilities. I still have to have references now, just so I can figure out how certain things work for poses, lighting, etc. But I'm more confident with coming up my own ideas and drawing them out how I see them in my head. They don't always come out exactly how I imagine, but it's getting better and better the more I try. I'm always trying to improve.
Anyway, I'm happy that like this and that it's become another fave. ^^

Ah, this is a WONDERFUL drawing....and so sad-
I have sooooo many TR ideas myself, some even 2 to 3 years old....but I never get them down on paper cuz I often get a lack of motivation, got any tips for me?

I know exactly how you feel. It's taken me years to get my ideas down on paper and finish them properly. Motivation is definitely needed, but I'm not sure how you get it, this just happened out of the blue. I mean, for so long I hadn't gone anywhere near photoshop to draw up any sketches, and then I suddenly felt the urge to get back to drawing Rocketshippy fanart. Now I seem to have run away with myself, he he he.
Also, I have all the people who comment and favourite my pictures to thank, because actually getting such positive feedback helps keep me motivated.
