COMMISSIONS TUMBLR | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | KO-FI | ETSY | REDBUBBLE | INPRNTPOKEDDEX: YOUR CHOICE! VOL 2 has officially begun! During January 2019 I will draw one Pokémon each day based on the suggestions that you guys have sent me. Each Pokémon has been chosen with a poll so all the power is in your hands. Also by your request I will be submitting each painting individually. Usually I just post them as a single dump but I decided to try something different. Let's see how this works! I might still post a compilation of all paintings when they're done.
The fourth Pokemon is Manectric! I was hoping I'd get to draw this one! Manectric is such a neat Pokémon, kinda underappreciated if you ask me. My approach was a pretty straightforward mix of maned wolf and a regular wolf. I was considering brown hyena for a second but it didn't feel right so I just took inspiration for the long fur from it. Mega Manectric on the other hand would be a different challenge to tackle.

I don't get it. Manectric are awesome, and more people should be using them IMO. And look at that gorgeous fur. As a Manectric lover I'm quite pleased. ^_^

I get that Manectric isn't exactly the powerhouse people would like to have on their team but it's a really cool Pokemon so it should get more love. I'm glad that it won this poll so I was able to give it some more appreciation. The best thing about doing this challenge like this is that I get to draw more unusual and less popular Pokémon.

Awesome!! Your rendition looks like it can be a legitimate animal; maned wolf and regular wolf is a good choice. I do agree with you that Manectric is pretty underrated - personally it's one of my favourite pokemon, though I notice not many people seem to use it. It isn't very strong in defence, but I always found it cool. And its cry is one of my favourites, as well!

A hyena pokemon would be pretty cool. The Mightyena line just look too much like regular dogs imo. Doesn’t have the right neck/shoulders or fur pattern.

Thanks! Yeah, Mightyena could have been more hyena-like. It looks a lot like brown hyena but the anatomy and posture are too generic. I have been meaning to do a proper hyena version of Mightyena. Maybe one day...

My fave electric type outside of Pikachu. Daw! Very leonine but cooler. I do like the mane, it reminds me of a rock singer that can make my ears bleed, and electrocute me at the same time. Fun. Beautiful anatomy, wonderful subject, and just all around awesomeness as always.
