Description
This is the result of getting an overdose of oriental themed movies. Afew days ago I watched Mulan, the next day I wathced Kung Fu Panda and two days later I watched Kung Fu Panda 2. I had to let that out in somehow.I don't know why I picked Lugia and Ho-Oh for this one. Well, I do like it, though. I've never really drawn anything that resembled the old Japanese art style this much. I have to say I really enjoyed painting this and I think I might do something similar in the future. :>
I hope you like it!

My goodness, this is gorgeous! <3
The time you put into hand painting it really shows through. It looks fantastic, and I'm just fan-girling all up in here. Great job! \8D/

In my opinion, 'resembled the old Japanese art style' is an understatement; its brilliant!

Very lovely! The line thickness variation is good, and I really love the way the clouds and the waves look. It certaintly gives it an old world mythological feeling to it.

This is absolutely beautiful. It really looks as though it could be old Japanese art, being displayed in a temple or something of the sort.

Oh my gosh, this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! such amazing brushwork! It looks just like an ukiyo-e painting~ What makes it even more incredible is the fact that you did this with traditional media, yet it still turned out so clean and vibrant~
Plus, I think Lugia and Ho-oh are great choices to render in this style. I always find Johto to be the most heavily influenced by traditional Japanese culture :3
It's so wonderful!

Thank you so much!
I though traditional media would be best for this kind of painting. You could do it digitally but I preferred traditional media (as usual). The old traditional Japanese paintings were done traditionally as well and even though I use different methods I think this painting is much more authentic when done traditionally. :>
I agree. I've always thought Johto has most Japanese influence of all regions. Might be because of Ekruteak city and the legends. :3

Hahaha! Yeah, this is beautiful! I find that when I watch movies like that, I get nearly the same result, with a slight touch of me in them...
Lovely! And really, really good!
