TUMBLR | INSTAGRAM | KO-FI | ETSY | REDBUBBLEEdit; 3.6.2018 Reduced the head size. Thanks to whoever pointed that out! This seems more balanced now.
My entry for 's Dark type collab! I was super happy to get Houndoom, it's one of my all time favourites and always fun to draw.
This time I wanted to take the opportunity to do something I have been thinking about for a while. Since Houndoom is a hellhound I wanted to slightly push some qualities to make it look more hellish than usual. Typially Houndoom is just interpret as a doberman with horns but I wanted to do something different. I wanted to include more goat-like features in the face. The horns would affect the skull structure, there's no doubt, but in addition to the more goat-like eyes I also gave it a goat's nose. And small ears because it would be silly without ears.
I have been drawing Houdooms bracelets as curved, overgrown talons for a while so that's no new thing. Since I don't like to give my Pokemon "accessories" or rather, parts that ade detachable for no reason, I also twisted the ribs a little.
Hope you like it!

Ahhhh this is so amazing! The overgrown talons and goat features are such a unique and creative take on my favorite pokemon. I love the goat eyes and the way you painted everything! I especially love how the shine in the coat looks.

A mix between a goat and a hound?
That moment when the owner told you to protect the cattle but you get confused because you are cattle.

This is very well done ! But I find its head too big compared to its body, and especially to its feet.. Perhaps it's just an impression...
Anyway, your art is still memorable !

I love the dew claws! Also I love that you didn't use the typical Doberman. It's rare to see Houndoom as anything but a Doberman and it's refreshing to see something else!

Houndoom is one of my favorite Pokemon ever. And this was posted on my birthday, oddly enough.
You did an amazing job on this doggo, keep up the awesome work!

Okay, so this might be your first redesign ever that I don't really like... I'm not sure if it's probably just the pose that ticks me off, because I really like your ideas. To go beyond the 'doberman with horns' and to add the goatlike features is a really neat concept and I also really like the head, where those ideas show most, I suppose. But the rest of its body is just... I don't know, it doesn't look right.
I get that that's sort of intentional but even with that knowledge it just doesn't add up, sorry^^'
(Also its right hind leg looks really small, or is that just me? o: )

That's alright. You can't always like everything and that's your right. If it helps anything, even understanding my choices, I intentionally chose a pose that would be more twisted and pushing what would even be anatomically possible (surely this isn't flawless in terms of anatomy, I took a lot of shortcuts to make it in time) while showing off stuff like bones sticking out.
There is one thing I don't like about this pose is that it's not natural at all. I usually try to go for something less of a "pose" and more like scene in which the creature is captured in but not this time. I don't really have excuses for that, I just did it.

Boss. The twisted posture and emaciated frame really give it that infernal otherworldly quality. I like what you did with the ribs, they look like they'd slide in and out of it's skin depending on what position it's in.
I can just see some crime lord keeping a pack of these around to eat anyone who crosses them.

Oh my gosh, this looks amazing! I really like the horns on him - a real hellhound! Houndoom's one of my favorites, too, and I love this version of him.
