Description
THIS MEME IS OUTDATED! 100% trust me.
I'm just bored, so doing a few memes because I can. I'm keeping my explanations short and sweep today.
Favourite Character: Dr Eggman
We all know I go for the villains nine times out of ten, and anyone who knows anything about my relationship with this series should have guessed I would immediately latch on to the evil genius himself. I just can't resist his witty charm. I'm a strange person, what can I say? Also, don't tell this to Eggman, but he scores some extra points for the scientist category. I nestle comfortably into characters of that area.
Despised Character: Big the Cat
I'm pretty sure most people can agree with me here. Screw his personality, screw his storyline and lack of contribution to anything else, screw his pet frog, and most of all screw his fishing minigame. Sorry. I just don't like this fellow at all. His design is about the only thing I like, but that's not enough to get him positive reception from me. Still don't like Big all that much, but there are far more annoying characters. In all honesty, you don't even SEE Big in the games much anymore.
Favourite Show: Sonic X
This show is all the charm I saw in the now dead series as a kid. Sonic can be a fun and exciting adventure, with colourful characters and fast-paced action. I'm sure you've already noticed most of my pictures in this meme are from the show.
Despised Show: The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic Boom was a close contender, but I enjoyed a couple of episodes from that, and despite some incredibly stupid character designs, the artwork is otherwise good. But this show right here; can't stand it. It looks ugly, it's a mish-mashed mess of nonsense, and if I actually think this manages to make Sonic MORE annoying. Largest turn off for me is that I dislike Dr Robotnik in this particular variation. I like this show now. Ignore me. I'm a hypocrite. AOSTH is fucking brilliant.
Most Overrated Character: Sonic
Do I even need to explain this at this point?
Most Underrated Character: Chris
Yes, I have fully dropped my vendetta with the child, because I realized something while rewatching the episodes of this show. This kid is lucky. He might not get to see his parents often, but they both love and care for him, and before even meeting Sonic and pals he already had great friends, and each and every person living at his house, be they relatives or staff, genuinely care for this kid's well being. Not to mention, the kid gets to hang out with the main cast of Sonic, going on high-speed adventures, having the time of his life, and befriending some of the most colourful people around. Not too many kids can say they're friends with a sentient flying fox, for example.
Favourite Game: Sonic Adventure Battle 2
Sonic DX was a close contender, but this game was one of my favourite Sonic games of all time. There were some crummy stages, sure, but what game doesn't have a disliked stage in all honesty? I thought it was a fun and thrilling game and I quite enjoyed the gimmick of playing as good and evil characters. I admit, when a game have a frequently reoccurring big bad like Dr. Eggman (or Bowser for an example from another game) I always get giddy at the idea of playing as them no matter what I think of them, because I love the idea of getting to be the person you're usually fighting.
Despised Game: Sonic '06
Yes, I hate this game more than Sonic Boom. At least Sonic Boom brought some humour to the table, given it was just so nonsensical and glitchy it was funny. The game was overly generous with rings, so it's not like you were getting a game over any time soon. Sonic '06 didn't bring the same humour to the table. All it did was piss me off by killing me and making me start all over. And don't even get me started on Elise. I don't need to be reminding of the thing a bipedal hedgehog had with a human.
Favourite Couple: Knuckles and Rouge
Honestly these two just bring out the best in each other, even if they aren't always getting along the best. Opposites are said to attract, and these two fit the bill well, each holding strength to an area the other finds weakness in. They to have small things they can relate on, and I feel through those, they can bond. Honestly, each time they fight, it just makes me feel they love each other even more.
Despised Couple: Sonic and Shadow.
I'm not even explaining why I hate this. Just a million times no. Friends, rivals, mortal enemies... anything but lovers. Please. I still don't ship it, but it's not really that bad.
Favourite Villain: Dr. Eggman
I didn't really want to reuse the same person twice, but I realized something. Eggman is the only major reoccurring villain. There are minor villains, but none catch my eye as well as he does. Not even close. I just couldn't think of anything.
Despised Villain: Lyric
Wow! You put a snake in a space suit! The person who came up with this idea should be given a fuckin' award for their stroke of brilliance! Sorry... In case you didn't get the hint, I think Lyric is the stupidest villain concept even put to paper.

I disagree with
first
-Knuxouge is very overrated couple , Rouge has no point to be in love with Knuckles , especially that he is her rival and I feel that she is forced to be in love with Knuckles , and him saving was unconvincing , seriously professional theif who can fly suddenly slipped and couldn't save herself (I really hate this broken logic ) also after he saved there was sexual hints , and don't forget the first thing he mentioned about her is being sexy in children game , really wonder how everyone support this coupleΒ which is created for sexual hints in first place while they are bitiching on pure love couple like Tails x Cosmo . Rouge's role in the franchise as theif/rogue doesn't fit with Knuckles as Guardian/hero . myth that said opposite attract to each otherΒ is wrong , realtionship like this always fail , due to the lack of harmoney , and barely success , obeviously Knuxouge is a rushed fanserivces , the sexual hints in SA2 and X show proves that . I ship Knuckles with that underrated girl Shade the echidna , that everyone keep ignoring her for the sake of fanserivce couple , she has all what takes to make harmony with Knuckles .
Second
Chris isn't underrated at all , the hate towards him is justifiable , he filled the show with stupid drama , he has good friends around him , his grandpa , Tanaka and Ellea yet he keeps whining about Sonic who obivously don't want to hang around with him . he his devlopement in seasons 3 was unnecessary, due to his extance in Sonic world was unnecessary and just redundant , but the biggest hit is that he stole the characters roles in the games , like Amy convencied Shadow in SA2 , but in the show Chris did , and made Amy redundant. Also in the island where Rouge trapped Shadow took the emerlads from her and just leave her to die until Chris showed up .
Third
Big is the true underrated one , majority of fans hating on him because his gameplay , alought the fact that SA1 is his only downfall , and he's pretty good in the rest of the games ,yet no one hates on Knuckles , Tails , Eggman and AmyΒ because of their horrible gameplay in SA1 ,SA2 and 06 and they had more downfall than Big . Character simple and shollow doesn't mean it's bad , at least he's caring character unlike that whiny brat chris who prefered to let the world fall down just to be with Sonic .
I agree on the rest

Seeing this reminded me how I watched Sonic X as a kid. And how it was great and entertaining. I should watch it again.
Syndral is a snake in a space suit.

I adored that show.Β I rewatch it every now and then just because it still holds water today.
Not as literally as Lyric is. Not to mention Syndral is a far more interesting character.

Now that I'm an adult and I understand things better, I should give it a go.
Yeah, I looked him up on the Wiki and he seems pretty basic. The glorification of technology is pretty interesting, though.
Wait...
Lyric loves technology and is pissed off at everything...

I might watch it again... again. The last time I watched it was a couple years ago.
The main problem with Lyric is he's just too outlandish for the series. I have no issue with the human villain because Dr. Eggman is believable for a human-being, if not seriously making me want to run another IQ test on him just to make sure he didn't make up that number. But Lyric, he's just so out there. He's not really a sentient animal, but nor is he alien. The other issue is he felt thrown in. I didn't really feel like he was relevant in any way. It's just like "Oops here's a snake in a spacesuit!"
Lyric is LITERALLY a snake in a LITERAL space suit. I get some points for that one. Lol~ Also, Lyric. Totally scary villain name.

Oh yeah. Again again. Like I did for Invader Zim. Only it's again again again.
Ah, you have a good point. When I looked him up, and saw how radically different he was from the other Ancients, I thought it was very weird. It doesn't make sense why there would be a giant sentient snake in a world full of anthropomorphic mammalians. Also, the reason they made him a snake was kinds lame. "Ooh, snakes represent evil, so lets make him a snake!" But... there aren't any other snakes? And if you REALLY want to have snakes, make it clear that there were OTHER SNAKES along with him. Right?
I want to know why "Lyric". I mean, what does music have to do with any part of his character?

That's me with Invader Zim and Danny Phantom. Both of those shows were amazing.
Yeah, that's the main issue were Lyric. It seems like everything was rushed. It seems like the developers of the game just really needed a villain, so they rushed to think of something from the top of their heads and put little time into making it make a lot of sense. I usually wouldn't mind a snake, given the antro animals the series is known for - most of them are mammals, but don't forget Vector the Crocodile and Espio the Chameleon - but he was so different from the other animals. He was just a rushed character, and I can say this safely, because Sonic Boom was a rushed game to make a Christmas. I just think space-suit snake didn't require an HD rendering and incredible dramatics.
That is a question every person that played Sonic Boom has been asking. And I don't think we're ever getting an answer on why Lyric of all names was chosen for him.
Lol~

My terrible 14-year-old phase was the dreaded "LOLRANDUMBz XD" phase. Deliver me... I don't know if Gir was to blame for it or not. I think I had already developed it on my own, and then Gir added fuel to the fire.
I can't forget Vector and Espio, because I've never heard of them. :3
Yeah, that speculation makes the most sense. Not being given enough time to really plan out a well-developed villain for the sake of marketing. People seem to forget that video games, like movies and episodic series, are an art form.
Like, does he like to sing? Is he a hobbyist musician? What?
I wanna draw it.

Hahaha! It was probably better than myself as a fourteen year old. That actually reminds me to ask what exactly your age is. I have some guesses, but I could never get it spot on because of random variables between similar ages.
They - alongside Charmy the Bee - were members of a group called Team Chaotix. I'm amazed you don't know them, given they were in several episodes of Sonic X - though it's possible you just never saw those. I know them best from Sonic Heroes, where they were one of the playable teams. Espio was Speed, Vector Power, and Charmy Fly. Their missions revolved around totally-not-Eggman giving them very specific goals to complete in each level. It was more complex then 'get to the end' for them. I drew Espio once not too long ago, but I messed with his design a little.
Sonic Boom on its own was that fault. Every aspect of the game was rushed, and as such, nothing came out right. The characters are dull be they old or new, the story is nonsense at best, and the gameplay is broken and glitchy. Sonic 2006 suffers from literally the same problem.
I have no idea. I Googled it many times in vain hoping I'd get an answer, but it's becoming clear there isn't one.
Lol~

Okay, now I'm curious, TELL ME YO BAD SELF
19. It's stated on my profile here and on darkspyro.
Oh no no, don't get the wrong impression. My memories of that show are very, very, VERY foggy. The only two things I remember in detail is a scene where Tails and another character had to pretend to be plushies on a bus with Chris (the kids around him were judging him for having huge stuffed animals and Tails commented that the only downside to their plan was that he couldn't blink), and an episode where Sonic was challenged to a race, where it looked like the challenger won, but Sonic had already made the whole lap and was just going again for kicks.
Anyway, okay. I'll look them up.
Ah, I see. So it just sucked in general. Disappointing.
What if his true goal was to make a musical world of singing robots, creating beautiful, flawless symphonies everywhere he went. And he kept it a secret because it would have made him lose street cred.
I wonder if anyone would get the joke. Don't think any of the others are into Sonic, or at least are that up to date with the franchise.

I'm bad at reading profiles.
I'm 20, though my birthday is in less than a month, so I'll be 21 soon.
Hahaha! I remember those scenes. The former was much earlier than the latter, but I greatly recall them both. If that's all you remember, then it's no surprise you don't recall Team Chaotix. They weren't major, plot-changing characters in the show's storyline. I think they were mostly just put there as a little gift to Sonic fans, sort of a way to surprise their fans by having them in the show. They weren't required far as I recall, but I appreciated seeing them nonetheless, given those three are very loved characters of mine.
Disappointing is an understatement. It was a broken and glitchy mess of a game. It actually had to make its own continuity because it's disjointed storyline didn't have a way to fit into the primary Sonic canon.
I wish that was the case. It would actually make him a more fun and diverse character than he is now, with his fairly mainsteam "kill all organic life" plan. Even Eggman isn't trying to murder everyone. If he killed them all, who will populate his cities?
They might know Sonic Boom just because of how notoriously horrible it was. It was sort of a big deal in the gaming community, especially if you owned a Wii U.

Why is everybody older than me...
I looked them up and they seem pretty interesting. But what about them stuck out to you?
So, apparently games in the Sonic franchise are just declining in quality?
If he hates organic life so much, why hasn't he considered the fact that he's half organic?
Yeah, maybe.
I don't understand why I'm so easily entertained by horrible parings nearly as much as rational pairings.

I wouldn't blame yourself. Even growing up, I was always attracted yo a younger crowd. I purposely befriended people below my age, a habit I still retain although now I'm not sure why I do it.
The first thing that caught my eye about them was the species. The Sonic franchise has so many mammals in it, that it was interesting to see a group of friends who were all something different and unique. To my knowledge, they are still the only of their kind canonically in the series. I liked the idea of the franchise branching away from mammals a little, so I gave them a chance, hoping they'd live up to my hopes. What I found was a group that meant business, but also goofed around a lot. I liked the way they interacted with each other, the way they could relax and have fun even when on a serious mission. The way Charmy, Espio, and Vector interact is just so entertaining, shows how much they care about and trust each other, and each character can play any role at any time. It's very clear Charmy is meant to be the comedic relief character, but he takes himself seriously on some occasions. It's also clear Espio is meant to be a serious fellow, but sometimes he relaxes and cracks jokes and enjoys life. When it borders down to it, though, in a world of mammals, I was interested in something a little different. And they deliver. They have abilities similar to their species. The Chameleon turns invisible, the bee flies - and in Sonic Heroes could use flower teleporters no other character in ANY team could because he could communicate with them - and etc.
Pretty much, yeah. The games just aren't what they used to be, though this is partially attributed to how horribly glitchy the recent ones are. I'm not saying they're be amazing if someone fixed them. The plots are lazy and the level design is boring, but they'd at least be more playable.
Because villains like himself don't want to consider that, as it makes them start forming questions their plans don't have time to answer.
I am too. Anyone who knows the "Tales of" game series will instantly pick up on that - specifically Tales of Vesperia. In that game one of my favourite pairings is the protagonist Yuri and a minor antagonist Zagi. Zagi is a sociopath who spends the entire game following Yuri around and trying to kill him, for no reason other than he was insulted Yuri beat him in a fight in the beginning of the game. It comes to the point where Zagi appears wherever Yuri is so many times that even his friends start joking that Zagi might be the leader of the "Yuri Fan Club". Despite their being zero positive or sane relationship between the two, I ship them. Because it's funny.

Interesting. And I've always been more comfortable talking to older people, like teachers. But that's sort of changed now, as I'm now uncomfortable talking with any new people, heh. I guess I've lost some of my sociability this past year.
Ah, right. I understand all your points. It must be a nice change from seeing only mammalians. Remind me, they're considered and antagonistic group, right?
Why is that, do you wonder? Why hasn't anything good come out from the series as of recently?
Ah, right. Good call.
So, it goes to show that the worst potential a couple has, the more entertaining it is. Especially when you get to see the reactions of the other characters when they see this ridiculous romance coming to be.

I'm not highly sociable. Or rather, I'm not a good socialist. I don't actually have an explanation for why I've always latched on to the younger people. The best I could really give you is imagination, some sort of attempt to remain in a child-like mindset as long as possible. I'm by no means saying all my friends are childish, but that's the only influential factor I can think of off the top of my head. Although I guess you can say why I like real young kids is because they're too young to be judgemental or bully people intentionally yet.
Team Chaotix? Not really. They did assist Eggman in Sonic Heroes, but they were actually aware Eggman was the one who contacted them. Team Chaotix is more greedy than it is evil. They seem to be the only character who have any bills to pay and they're pretty desperate for money. Their theme song from Sonic Heroes actually has lines denoting they'll put a stop to crime. sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Team_Chao⦠There, you can check out the lyrics yourself.
Time constraints, I'd say. A lot of their even slightly recent gamesΒ - I say slightly because I realize mid-2000s might seem outdated to some people - were rushed, usually for Christmas. Some of the most notoriously horrible Sonic games like Sonic '06 and Sonic Boom were rushed for Christmas. I've heard the recent Sonic Generations is good, but that doesn't way much when it's surrounded by sub-par specimens like Sonic and the Black Knight - that one suffered because of the horrible sword combat using the Wii remote. Unresponsive controls tarnished that already strange specimen of a game.
Precisely. It can be interesting to see what might come from an unlikely pairing, what would happen if those two were together, even for only a short while. You wonder if it would remotely work and how their friends would take it. Especially when it comes to people on opposite factions, because then you wonder what the enemies will think.

I understand that. But that's a strange concept to me, because I know kids for being more judgemental towards petty things. Maybe I'm not thinking of the right age.
Wait, you mean Eggman actually PAID someone to do something? Well, okay, I guess they must be really good at their job if he was willing to do that for their services, then.
Oh yes, the "committing crimes to stop crimes" characters. Although to say that with them would be stretching it, as they're doing said crimes to get money rather than some complex loophole.
I'm boggled at how they're still managing to make the evil little things. If all their games are crap, why are people buying them?
Maybe they should be handcuffed and forced to kiss. No, wait, that's weird...

Real young kids. Like, not in school yet kids. The sort of children who understand how to host a basic conversation, but haven't had active practice with it. Besides, kids are bad at hosting debates, at least compared to an older audience who can actually trail thoughts together.
Ha! Not entirely. He claimed he would gonna pay them, but when they arrived to rescue him, Eggman was basically like "Yeah, it turns out I don't have any money" and stiffed Team Chaotix. They did not respond well to this.
Yeah, I don't deny the methods they employ aren't entirely morally correct. I mean, they're a good enough group when it comes down to it. In Sonic X, Vector helped Cream the Rabbit reunite with her mother Vanilla when she was lonely and missing her mother. When it comes down to the group, it's all about profit, so there are certainly worse things.
Name recognition. I think everyone keeps hoping that if they wait long enough, a good game will finally come out. So many people grew up with Sonic and I don't think people want to let it go because it was so influential on their childhood. Most grew up with either Sonic or Mario, after all.
Not on the internet, it wouldn't. Lol~

Oh, I get it now. Right, at that point they haven't even been exposed to any discrimination. At least, they shouldn't have.
Of course. How could I have expected any less... or, more. I hope they called off the rescue and just left him there.
Well, at least they aren't cold-hearted monsters. But still, even cold-hearted monsters have their charm. Yet, probably not as much as a more relatable group of... antiheros?
Has there been any recent game with any quality? I feel like you may have stated that already, but I forgot.
Or, right. Because stuff like that is normal on the internet. Not saying anything's wrong with that, though. Weird does not equal bad. It just equals weird.
