Description
"I don't understand, Rissa. How do you resist the urge to make jokes about him?
"It's really quite simple, Snively. I make them in my head."
Also known as the insane, mostly humourless version of Rissa.
As an assistant to Dr. Robotnik, Rissa takes her job 100% seriously. Spending so much time by Robotnik's side has caused his personality to seep into the girl, and she too became a spitting image of hostility and evil. Rissa takes the time to root out his enemies and potential traitors, and is very, very blunt about dealing with them. Much like the man she works for, she has a deep affinity for robotisizing people, and that is her primary means of threatening others - which includes Robotnik's own nephew from time-to-time, comically. Undyingly loyal to a fault, Rissa will obey any order given to her regardless of how ridiculous, and is completely willing to take blame for any of Robotnik's failures should he wish to push the blame off on someone else. Rissa's primary method of keeping a good position in Robotnik's forces is being both a big-time bootlicker and a Yes-Man for any of Robotnik's schemes. She goes out of her way to compliment him on his every action and glorify him to ridiculous levels. By constantly licking his boots, she's able to effectively nullify anything she did wrong - either because she legitimately screwed something up or Robotnik just didn't take responsibility for his own actions. When Rissa isn't roaming the streets of Robotropolis looking for resistance members to capture, she can be seen standing aside his personal chair, a position she will hold for hours should she need to. Rissa only refers to Robotnik by name when she absolutely needs to for her sentence to have context. Otherwise, she will dub him by various respectful titles such as boss (usually when speaking about him towards other people) or sir (when speaking directly to him). Her primary form of transportation is on an avian robot called the Wing Drone, which has multiple weapons to both kill enemies and stun and capture those who need be robotisized - which she is allowed to do without speaking to Robotnik first. Her reasoning for why she never argues with Robotnik over anything - and will take blame for all his minor misgivings - is because she knows that he's very likely to have her robotisized just because he's in a bad mood, and doesn't consider losing all her free will worth winning an argument with him over something petty she could just not stress over. Rissa is dangerously effective at subterfuge and has been known to use her knowledge of subterfuge in an attempt to infiltrate the resistance's HQ on multiple occasions.
As for how she GOT the job, simply put, she joined the winning side and brazenly betrayed King Acorn. Cold, yes, but it didn't mean much to her, as she was far more concerned about what Robotnik would do to her. Turns out it's pretty easy to pick a side when you're a coward and someone like Robotnik corners you and straight up tells you that either you join him, or he's silencing you.
If you're wondering about the bird, no it's not a pet. That's her other form. After Robotnik's death, when Ixis Naugus began to join the picture, she absolutely despised Ixis, and her loyalty to Robotnik refused to vanish even after he was gone. She started becoming passive-aggressive towards both Ixis and Snively (considering Snively's alliance with Ixis to be a betrayal to everything Robotnik stood for) and eventually, the homicidal wizard got tired of her behavior. He was prone to turning her into animals already to punish her, but at one point he opted to permanently turn her into a bird (specifically the Grosbeak Starling) as punishment for not obeying him. Despite ever fibre of her being despising the very idea, she temporarily allied herself with the Freedom Fighters to get herself back to normal - though not without pestering Sonic in whatever small ways a bird could - ergo nesting on his bed, stealing his food specifically, etc. As a bird, her vocab is very limited and she can only form short sentences using basic words.
Shortly after joining Robotnik, she abruptly began wearing a strange striped sleeve that covers her entire left arm. Anyone who tries to remove the piece of clothing or even pull it back to reveal the skin underneath will be subject to her blind fury. She demands the sleeve never be removed. Her explanation is that she doesn't wish to offend Robotnik that while Sonic caused his arm to be robotisized, her arm is still grafted of flesh - so in order to avoid offending him, she covers her arm. This is what everyone believes, including some of the highest ranking members of Robotnik's forces. (Yes, even his nephew Snively) The ACTUAL story is that she's hiding from the entire rest of Robotropolois the polar opposite. She believed that in order to best serve Robotnik, she needed to be everything he was, to reflect the perfect image. So one day, she approached Robotnik and made a daring request "Robotisize my left arm". The request was initially taken to be an insult by Robotnik, who was none too pleased with the girl mocking him, but when she explained just how serious she was and that it was intended as a form as respect (I am willing to throw away my own flesh and blood to prove my loyalty to you) he shifted gears, eagerly willing to shove the girl's arm in a robotisizer if that's what she so wished. However, a promise was made. Wanting to make a major spectacle of it one day as a surprise weapon against the Freedom Fighters, Robotnik ordered her to keep her choice secret from everyone else until he declared otherwise. So she covered her arm and fabricated a fake story about respect that Robotnik will casually agree with when present.
TLDR: Rissa is a madwoman in this universe. The end.
