Description
SATYRSatyrs are a simple, hardy, and sure-footed race of beastfolk that build their settlements in the hills and mountains. These settlements stay small because the farming is poor, and they lack the organization and leadership to manage a bigger community. The Satyr understands that many can accomplish what one can not, which is why they value fellowship so much. Loyalty to this value has allowed the Satyrs to cooperate with other beastfolk and even flourish under their leadership (they're especially fond of Minotaurs). Unfortunately, this value is easily (and often) exploited when evil creatures, like Dark Elves and Rakshasa, manipulate them for their own agendas. They Hate Trolls for some reason, and will not extend their policy of fellowship to them under any circumstance.
Satyrs have a bad reputation of being evil beastfolk, and while it's true that many are affiliated with evil creatures, they're not inherently evil; just gullible and prone to making bad life choices. The Satyrs that worship the Demon Lord Baphamet, however, are beyond redemption, and are committed to spreading his evil. They're great in number, zealous, and are the expendable shock troops of Hell's armies.
CORBY (AKA Wereraven, Tengu)
Corbies are a vain and cunning race of beastfolk without the burden of having values or honor. Corbies don't build their own settlements, and usually dwell in the slums of other beastfolk cities. There are few places that even tolerate the presence of Corbies because of their reputation as thieves, and association with death. Since Corbies are covetous, sneaky, and deceptive by nature, and unhindered by morals, they easily take to learning the arts of thievery, ninjutsu, and necromancy. They have a strong survival instinct, and can sniff out the dead or dying; and have no objection to eating carrion.
WERERAT
Wererats are a clever and adaptive race of beastfolk that live in the shadows of major cities, and have a talent for not being noticed. Wererats are skilled scavengers and salvagers, proficient at extracting useful craft materials from discarded items and junk. Wererats provide a valuable service to the city by keeping the streets free of litter and preventing the waterworks from clogging or fouling. They're also a cheap source of labor, making excellent assembly-line workers. They have a strong survival instinct, and are capable of eating even the least appealing foods (though they prefer not to). They also have a strong resistance to natural illnesses and diseases.
Wererats are very careful about the items that take, as they are adamant about not drawing the ire of their host city by stealing. Some Wererats hate theft so much, they'll actually foil robberies and burglaries. They tend to be hoarders, saving many things "just-in-case." Wererats are generally well-liked in beastfolk cities, and tolerated in others.
GRIPPLI
Gripplis are a noble and honorable race of beastfolk that highly value the principles of chivalry. They build their settlements on the edge of wetlands, and warmly greet any peaceful traveler. Because of their natural acrobatic prowess, many Gripplis train to be fine fencers. Despite their small size, they're very brave, and will engage even the largest foe, without hesitation. Gripplis tend to be eloquently articulate, exceedingly polite, and very charming. Contrary to popular belief, kissing a Grippli will not turn it into a handsome Prince (or beautiful Princess), but he (or she) will be more than amused to let someone try.
