I accidently painted an American pine marten for the Fauna Focus challenge last month, lol. silly me! I didn't realise that it wasn't slight color variation in the same species and not a whole seperate species! but that's ok! you learn something new every day!Β Anyways I decided it would be fun to go back and do a digital painting of the European Pine Martin as, well even though that month's challenge is over now. Anyways pine martens are so cute! and I had fun drawing the first one so why not do another!

Woah, you work so quickly!
It's so easy to mistake the American marten (Martes americana) and pine marten (Martes martes). I accidentally saved some references of American martens for my pine marten drawings, myself, and realized later!
This piece is amazing! I love all the textures, colors, movement, and composition. The muted tones feel so unified and marten's pose is so expressive. Lovely work!
